It seems like a lot of us are now opting for the surgery instead of going with the medications. I do think that surgery should almost be a first line treatment for prolactinomas, unless it is more risky than beneficial of course.
It just seems as if healing after the surgery is a shorter process than taking the medications and suffering for years with side effects from the tumor and the meds......

Although I was MISERABLE the first 12 hours after surgery, I'm thinking and hoping it was the best choice, so, one day, I can have babies.
Since I actually INCREASED my dosage of medication, I've actually gotten to feeling better the past four or five months. I'm back on Cabergoline and I can build up Psychiatric and Physical symptoms. I can take a day or two off medication and I'm fine...but, God, the paranoia!!!
I was so constipated for the Cabergoline that I was in the ER one step away from surgery from an obstruction.
The nausea was bad from the meds as well. I also had anger problems with it and suicidal depression.
The weird thing about the surgery though is that I had the same side effects form surgery, like the anger and depression, as I had from the meds for about a week and then it all seemed to just even out after that.
