hiya ya'll

I never really post on here but im having a few dilema's that someone may be able to help with?!

Ive been diagnosed with a 8mmer for nearly three years now and been on the awful cab. personally i feel it made me a lil crazy and reading other posts im not alone. my depression (which i think the cab has made worse) has got dangerously bad which led to self harm and a few suicide attempt. i have been taking srri's for a good year which have been increased to 150mg sertraline. though my doc has increased my cab because app ssrii's increase prolactin?!?!

also have been put on a small dose of seroquel mood stablisiser which in the leaflet says def does increase prolactin?!?!?! am i jus taking meds to bloody cancel each other out?!?! im so bloody confused. and ive also noticed my cycle getting irregular and lighter!

feel like im getting no where and jus floating above water with my depression nand sufferin all the tiredness dizzy/fainting spells with the dopamine agonists!! got endo app soon..... jus feel theres no winning :( :( :( :(

any input would be greatfully recieved

I can't give you any advice but to say I know how you feel. I get really depressed now to the point of tears.....then well i have something with sugar and i feel better. I think sucide sometimes but haven't gone through with anything....i just think of my godson and how he would feel if i were gone and it makes me get out of it. The anxiety is what's killing me....i get so frustrated so easily now. And i had a fainting spell at work to the point that my co-workers called 911 they were so worried. Doc says you just have to live through it.....somedays i'm great so those are the one's i cherish now.....the bad days i try and stay home away from everyone. There aren't many people that understand.

Natural mood stabilizers for me are exercise, spirituality and martial arts...I feel for you I really do..I have had and still do mood issues with cabergoline and have considered meds for that but am resisting as long as possible. I'm going to try a lower cab does split into more days and counselling (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy may be helpful)...You are not alone and should be proud of your brave struggle...you will get through this..never give up..much love...

You're definitely not alone... I've been having much the same problem with Cabergoline. I have had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety over the past year and I'm trying to find a way out of this as well. I have tried decreasing my dosage twice, with little relief, but perhaps you guys will have better luck! I have also heard that some people do better on Bromocriptine, although I had mood issues on that medication as well--mostly was really angry and easily frustrated. The most effective things I've found so far are also exercise and chocolate. Obviously it would be nice to have a better solution, but in the meantime pound those two things and keep on trying! You deserve a good quality of life and there is something better out there. Don't give up!

I had the same mood issues and so surgery was my best option. You should not be taking SSRI's and Seroquel to counteract the effects of Cabergoline. And if they tell you Cabergoline doesn't cause those symptoms, then kindly tell them they're fired. Unless your tumor is near the optic nerve or invading your cavernous sinus (where other nerves of the eye pass through) then you should opt for surgery. Endo's will do anything to keep you as a patient on Cabergoline. The literature is trash regarding its side effects and Endo's don't want to change that because this is the only tumor they can treat.

Largely, for me, SSRI and SNRI medications simply don't work.

I use an Alpha-Stim for depression and anxiety and it's a God-send. Likewise, learning how to take the cabergoline is key as well.

Yes, the thoughts can be overwhelming and you can feel like you have the flu.
