Prolactin Levels

Just curious as to what everyones prolactin levels
started at and with medication what it's down to and how long did it take. Just finished 3rd week
of cabergoline with my daughter, bloodwork in about 2 weeks and back to the endo beginning of
November, curious as to what to expect

My initial level was 224.3 ng/DL. It was down to 6 ng/DL in two months.

But, getting the Prolactin levels down is just part of the solution to the problem.

Regulating the effects of the medication are part of the problem.

There are several problems that I have either experienced or know someone who has experienced.

Now, I hope none of these apply to your daughter...and they may not...but when the prolactin levels have stabilized, you may need to adjust the medication to prevent complications associated with the way the medication binds up with the 5HT2B Dopamine receptors in the vagus nerve and other places in the body.

My prolactin levels were in the upper 50's to lower 60's in July/August of this year. I had an MRI in August which confimed a pituitary adenoma measuring 5mm. The first time I saw the endocrinologist was on 8/31...I started Bromocriptine on 9/1. I had my follow up appointment last week and was told that my prolactin level is presently 4.5.

Thanks for the info, Gina's level was 367,
hopefully when we see the endo on Nov 9th her
levels will be lower, she will be on the cabergoline for about 5 weeks when we have
blood work done. This group is great, helps
me so much in dealing with this and being able to relate to other people with this problem.
Gina just turned 16 yesterday and I think she
has a long road ahead of her, she wasn't feeling to good this morning but went to school anyway, just don't know what to expect down the road for her. Thanks again.
