My tumor was 9mm. My Endo only told me to wait till my levels were normal. Unfortunately that was last April and my cycles never returned as I have PCOS too. I would think that it is due to the size of you prolactinoma and the fact that your doctor will probably discontinue meds after you become pregnant. He probably wants to make sure that it is under control before you become pregnant. Keep your faith up that it will work, my prolactin dropped quickly too and my second MRI (7 months after the first) showed that my tumor was gone! It can happen! GL!

My prolactinima is 4mm but my levels were around the same as yours. On half a pill of bromo a day my prolactin went down to 57. I have since been taking a full pill and will find out if it has lowered to normal range. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten AF at all. I am also TTC.

I can't see why your RE would want you to wait other than he may be worried that the tumor will get larger during pregnancy. Is the prolactinoma causing any other negative symptoms for you? I would ask you RE what the reason for waiting is.

Once My levels became normal it was 8 months before I could get pregnant. RE is just giving your body time to adjust to things being back to normal so you will have the best results.

Hi all! is this stressful or WHAT? I haven't had my period for almost a year and a half. I don't even know if that is truly correct. Anyway, I'm 34, no kids yet but definitely want them. I found out in February that I have a small 1cm tumor on the pituitary. I've been taking Bromocriptine ever since. One pill a day. I'm not a patient person in general, so i'm EXTREMELY anxious to get my period back. I don't think i've ever wanted a period so bad in my life.

My prolactin levels initially were off the charts.. I just had blood work taken about a week ago and they were low. So, now i'm sitting here waiting for AF. Also, I'm on Effexor because of anxiety. Now i'm thinkin' it was due to the lack of hormones. Anyway, I've gained weight but I feel good. I just want my period! My friends and family are confused with what is going on with my body. I act normal and happy, but inside i'm panicked. Anyway, I wish all a healthy recovery!!

I was told a similar thing. They are not sure how big my tumor is, because it bled and they couldn't get a clear reading. They are calling it a macroadenoma. I was told to get an MRI 3 months after my 1st one (January) and get one menstrual period before TTC. I just had my 2nd MRI yesterday and am awaiting results then I just need to get my period. I agree with others that it is incredibly frustrating waiting for it! I started Bromocriptine in Feb. and no period yet! Good luck to everyone TTC, I am right there with you!

I've been taking the caberguline for a year now, and just had my second MRI. My husband and I are crossing our fingers that my endocrinologist is happy with the results, because we're going to try getting pregnant. My tumor is 9 mm as of diagnosis, and my prolactin levels dropped really well on the drugs. Best wishes to you!
