I had my post-surgery MRI several weeks back. No sign of tumor--yay! The surgeon had said that he had to leave a tiny piece behind, so my endo said it's possible that it's so tiny and hidden that it can't be seen on the MRI, or else the rest of the tumor died after surgery, which sometimes happens. Hoping for the latter, but either way, it's good news.

Prolactin still very low--4.7--which my endo said is a good sign of success for surgery. Free T4 also normal, whatever that is.

I got a weird result for my IGF-I test, and the endo said it must be a lab error, so they are retesting it, but no word yet on the results of the retest.

The one slightly off thing is that my cortisol levels came back slightly low. They came back as 3, but the normal range is 4-22. So, just slightly low, but still considered to be abnormal. I was surprised since I felt totally fine. I had to do an ACTH stimulation test to evaluate whether they are low b/c of my pituitary gland or for other reasons. But, when I went in to take that test, my cortisol levels were up to 4, squeaking into the normal range. Still no word from my doc on the results or what this all means--I guess they are still recovering from the holidays! But, in the meantime, I have to take a low-dose steroid every day.

I'm bummed that my pituitary function doesn't seem totally normal, but I THINK that worst case scenario, I just need to take a small dose of steroid. I was taking pills anyway before surgery, and at least the steroid doesn't make me feel bad like the bromo or caberg! Surgery still absolutely a success in my mind, so if this is the worst I have to deal with.....I can live with that. Periods still coming roughly every month (I forgot how much cramps suck!) and hubby and I are officially "trying" tho no baby yet. Fingers crossed though :)
