I've been on .25mcg bromocriptine since January 2011 and had my follow up appointment with my endo yesterday. While my prolactin levels are now in the normal range, my cortisol levels are high. He seemed concerned and have scheduled another cortisol type of test in two months. I've done a little reading about high cortisol levels, Cushions disease, etc. but wanted to inquire with this forum to see what other's experiences are.
It's good that your PRL levels went down. I haven't tolerated Bromocriptine as well and it seems my prolactin levels go up
& down and then average out but have yet to come close enough to normal range. Anyway, my endo has had me tested twice for Cushings Disease. Cortisol can be tested 2 ways in the blood & in the urine. The urine test also tests the Creatinine. At first I was told this level was high then they called back and told me to disregard everything was fine. I am borderline?? or Could it be that someone inexperienced was reading the results? i don't know...we are still awaiting the results from the second most recent set of test.
