Hi, cortisol is a hormone related to stress. It could be temporary that you are stressed about something that has made the hormone increase. If it stays on in future lab results you might wanna consider a stress test which is done in cardiology to be sure it's nothing that impacts the heart and the like. Cortisol is one of the hormones monitored when having prolactinoma since agonists such as cab and bromo can impact on other hormones, most commonly they break down testosterone and estrogen. Most of the changes on other hormones vary from time to time and are most often temporary changes.

Interesting points... my cortisol did jump up when taking bromo. I had the required tests to validate I didn't have cushion's etc. and now the cortisol levels seem to be leveling out. I suspect I was initially highly stressed due to how I felt after starting the medication, an endo that was not supportive, etc. I found new endo, 6 months of bromo and I seem to be managing some of the initial side effects better. Now on to the next point, bromo breaks down estrogen? Makes sense and wonder if that's why I'm beginning to think I have some dryness/itching since I don't have a yeast infection. I'm almost 42 years old and I'm sure my body is going through a whole wirlwind of changes.

Hi when prolactin breaks down testosterone it's called hypergonadism, I think this is also the name of when it breaks down estrogen but not sure. This is not something that happens to everyone,but some. However it is very common that prolactin effects some other hormone, or creates a hormon inbalance temporarily. My reports look like a rollercoaster of hormones going up and down from one year to another. It is the effects also remaining from agonists, such as cab and bromo, they are "neuronblockers", when they block D1 and/or D2 neurons ( cab only blocks D1 while bromo blocks both D1 and D2 neurons) in the brain they can "overblock", that is, they tend to also block other neurons or more neurons than those aimed at.
