Prolactinoma Support Group
A prolactinoma is a benign tumor of the pituitary gland that produces a hormone called prolactin. It is the most common type of pituitary tumor. The results from my MRI showed no growth of the pituitary tumor. However my Neuroloist is referring me to a Neuro-Opthamalogist. I did not get to talk with the doctor because he had his nurse to give me a call. So I will be going to she another specialist on Monday, November 12. I am really glad that there was no new growth of the tumor, however still concerned about vision and headaches. I will update everyone about the outcome of this next appointment.
Still have not reschuled to have other MRI done on the pancreas. I decided to slow down and deal with one thing at a time.
If anyone has ever been to a Neuro-opthathmalogist and would like to give me some feedback, please repond. I would really like to have an ideal on what to expect. Thanks again.
I've been to a Neuro-Opthamologist twice now & it was easy. He did a visual fields test & examined my eyes. Hopefully he/she can give you some answers as to what's happening with your vision. Good Luck!!
Done another Field Vision was done. Doctor seem to think that this lost of peripheral vison in the left eye was form my head injury that I had as a child. Plan of action for know is to have regular field vision test every 2 and the 6 months to make sure there is no change. I guess I am content with this answer or jut tired of going to all the dr. appt. Last but not least, I would like to wish everyone a Happy
Thanksgiving. I plan to take my mind off my problems and focus more on my family. I give thanks to my Heavenly Father for all his blessings. I know him as a healer. Goodnight Everyone.
Thanks for really sharing! You give me the strength and courage to move on despite the agony am going through.
Rosie, early this year is when i was diagnosed with a brain tumor -prolactinomas and it was then that i discovered that my left eye was also affect completely blind ,my neurologist recommended surgery in a bid to save my right eye so he also put me on bromocriptine for 3months and he tested my prolactin and it had gone down to 3.7ng/ml which was normal. This was my happiest day ,my endocrinologist stopped me from taking bromo again and he put me under observation. A week later i got the symptoms just like before the operation ,the terrible headaches, tearing eyes so i visited my endocrinologist again and he put me again on bromo though the dosage increased. It has really affected my body system i have not adjusted to the meds as yet.
Rosie , at this moment i believe you need surgery to keep the vision because now it seems like the tumor is oppressing the optic nerve.
Iam with you through it all. I have been there but strong ..............GBU
