It interesting you bring this up.

In the past two years, I've developed cold hand and feet and I also have developed a condition that causes all or part of my toes...on a cold day...to appear yellowish and they go numb all by themselves.

It may be one, or two, or part of one or two toes...on a cold day.

I believe the medication interferes with vasodilation due to it's binding with the 5HT2B Dopamine receptors throughout the body.

This is crazy, but me to!! My arms and tips of my fingers sometimes go numb right after I take my medication. I'm on bromocriptine, and I find this happens everyday after I take my pills.

Thank you for your replies, it is a relief to know it could be the medication and not some other problem, Tigerpaws, my feet go numb too just like yours, but it is strange that only my right arm/hand is affected, the left is perfectly normal.

It's interesting you'd say that.

The Lymphatic system, of the body, has two distinct regions...one is the part that serves the left shoulder, down to the waist, and the legs...the other part is the right upper quadrant of the body.

The Lymph vessels dump back into the bloodstream in the Subclavian veins' Lymphatic ducts to enter into the Right Atria of the heart. The Right Lymphatic system could be what's being effected here.

I've been numb, too. I posted on a different topic to ask if anyone else has...glad I'm not crazy!
It's my left side, particularly my left arm. I've been on a full dose of bromocriptine for only one week, and I was scared by the tingliness spreading to my face, so I stopped taking the meds.
Numbness is listed as a "severe" side effect of bromocriptine, everyone...I don't know why, but I just want you to be aware.
Tigerpaws said it has to do with ergot (I forget what ergot has to do with bromocriptine), but it constricts your blood vessels, I guess. Easy to see how this could cause problems.

I also have extremely cold hands and feet, which is in my case caused by low thyroid hormons ( hypothyreoidism). I also developed first numb fingers and then Carpal Tunnel syndrome during the years which is also typical for low thyroid. Prolactinoma is in many cases causing also problems with the thyroid. Did you checked recently your blood levels? TSH and free T-hormons?
When I discontinued with Cabergoline for few months these symptoms didn't get better, so it's not a side effect of Cabergoline. ( at least not in my case).
I'm taking thyroid hormons now and I hope things will get better ( I'm only at the beginning yet).

I too have cold hands and cold feet, however my symptoms were prior to starting on cabergoline or any other med. It's quite a bit better now, but some days . . . well, you know how it goes.

Right before I was diagnosed I could not get warm. I would sit in my chair with a stack of blanket wrapped around me and a stocking cap on my head while the rest of the family looked at me like I was insane. That has mostly gone away since medication.

Vision Pilot, I've been cold for years too! I always have to wear layers and layers to even be comfortable in temperatures where others are wearing tees and shorts, and find myself shivering in my house when my roommate is fine. I knew something was weird about this.

The temperature sensation and regulation center of the brain is in the Hypothalamus. With our tumors sitting nearby, it's very probable that with the scouring of Dopamine by the tumor...that this could cause a shift in your sensation of temperature.

It also does this with pain.

Pain sensation is linked fairly closely to Norepinephrine in the brain. Take a small dose of Strattera to modulate this fatigue (another form of pain) and you may find this corrects this shift in body sensation. I know it does for me...

This is one man's hypothesis...your mileage may vary, but it works for me.

I am new here and shocked that there are soooo many people with the same symptoms! I thought I was a hypochondriac with all these symptoms (fatigue, depression, cold/numb hands and feet, difficulty sleeping, weight gain). I thought I had a circulation problem because my feet fall asleep lately, but my hands just feel cold, especially my right hand (I am right handed, don't know if there is a connection). I wonder if there is a formal study on this...
