I recently had some more blood taken for prolactin levels, when I was first diagnosed the levels were so high the Endo, was shocked, they were 35,000, I have been on Cabergolein for 2 years now, prolacin level have dropped to 3, 672, which are still extremely high, my tumor has not shruk at all, the blood test done 3 months previously the prolactin level was 3,400, has anyone heard of the levels going up when on Cabergoline? also my cholesterol levels have shot up to 6.9, and I am now on Statins, but reading the side effects from the statins it states to be very carefull taking the Statins if you suffer from a underactive thyroid, which I do, any advice on this would be very welcome.

My prolactin levels were 24,900 when I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma, 2 years ago. Since then I have been taking Cabergoline twice a week and they have fallen to 59. I had a blip a couple of months ago where they had fallen to 6 but they are usually around 59. I would talk to your doctor about other medication.....possibly Bromocriptine????
