Trying to get clean but it’s hard
so I have been taking Suboxone illegally for two years now because I got addicted to pain pills in high school and meth for about 3 years I’m 30 now. I’m trying my best to get off subs but I always fail I feel like I need them just to be happy plus I’m scared of going through withdrawals again. I have a two year old I need to take care of and I’m scared that if I try to get off of them I won’t be able to do it on my own I have tried to look up so many things of how to get off of them without completing losing my mind but I can’t figure out how to do it without turning right back to it again. I just wanted to post on here because I have no idea where to turn too to fight this battle I face every single day.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

If you find you can't wean on your own then that means you have some underlying problems triggering your addiction such as undiagnosed depression or anxiety or something else. Most of us do. That is why, talking to your doctor would be very helpful. Just knowing you have an addiction would tip her off that there are underlying problems which need to be remedied with either medication, or counseling, or both.
I went through detox for 4 days and then through outpatient treatment followed by counseling for 3 months but I had been going to AA meetings as well. It took all of these things to keep me off narcotics and alcohol
I was on suboxone for a short time time but because of the help and support I had, weaning off those was fairly easy and I had no withdrawals but you have been on suboxone for 2 years which is a long time so it may be more difficult for you.
I can tell you that you will be happy at some point just like I am but it will take time for your brain to rewire itself. Up to a year is what I was told but after 8 months I was back to my previous happy self. I started to feel better after 2 months.
If you need to talk, you are welcome to write to me here as I check in many times throughout the day. You took the first step by acknowledging your problem. The best place to start is with your doctor. I remember my doctor shook my hand when I told her I want to quit! She was the first to offer me support and it was nice because I thought she was going to be very angry but not at all. She was very helpful and allowed me to decide what kind of treatment I thought I might need based on her recommendations.
Please keep us posted because the path you take on your road to recovery, might help someone else.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
