SCARED... I'm starting to taper off Percocet
fiona1153
Long story short I have spent the last 3 years in constant pain, it effected every area of my life, I lost my job, I lost my husband, and I took every ounce of energy to raise my two kids alone, and support them. By finding any job possible that let me work from home. I finally last week was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, factor 5 Leiden (clotting disorder) and no inferior vena cava (aka blood builds up in the lower half of my body and really hurts) but I started taking Lyrica and tramadol, and drastically my symptoms improved.
The problem that is that in those 3 years I have been on a constant dose of Percocet almost every two hours, prescription and "borrowing" them from friends.... Now Im tapering off with help from my doctor. But they have become a part of my life. More than the addiction that I know I have, it's become a habit. When I wake up, when I cook lunch, before dinner, before bed, when Im out with friends, when Im taking a long car trip.... you get the idea.... I have no idea how Im going to do this I know it's time Im only 29 and I know I need to do it for my kids because I don't need narcotics anymore. I keep telling myself that as I split in half a 30mg Percocet.
I honestly dont know a life without Percocet, every dose possible. I just dont know how to help the habit of taking the pills. I know I can beat the physical aspect, but the emotional habit part. Thats where Im scared.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Welcome to the group.
You need alot of support and online support is not really enough. Either AA or NA (They are both 12 steps) is the best place to go to find that support. You can google meetings in your area or if you pm me the area you live in, I will google it for you and send you the list.
You need to learn how to live a happy, sober lifestyle. It would also be a good idea to confide in your doctor and let him in on your struggle. He will help you with other treatment options.
Keep us posted. The path you take may help someone else!
Good luck and God Bless!
