pain meds after oral surgery?

I've been free of xanax for over a year now... During my free fall into my xanax addiction that lasted a year... I was prescribed... I also chased those with pain meds from various dental medical issues I was prescribed every three or four months. I hit a low point, got rid of the xanax and just smoke now... Here's the thing... Do I need to take pain meds? Will I be ok once I'm finished with the bottle?
I've needed my wisdom teeth out for at least six years now, and i've kept putting it off out of my fear on needles, the cost, recovery, etc.
One of my back molars had to be extracted a year ago because I had a tendency to get cavities and root canals in my back teeth no matter what I used or how well I took care of my teeth. This open space allowed for one of my wisdom teeth to push through my gum partially and it was not positioned correctly and it giving my extreme pain. I'm going to a really great dental school to get themremoved because it is inexpensive and I currently do not have insurance.
My appointment time got messed up and I have to wait anther week until Monday to get them out. I'm in severe pain and really anxious my teeth and gums are being damaged now that the wisdom tooth is poking out of my gum...
Anyway, I thought I could get gas but the dentist said I needed iv sedation. I'm freaking out. I need these teeth out but am extremely afraid of needles, I often pass out, and I have low blood sugar and sometimes seizures and I can't eat or drink that morning. I've been taking vitamins but think about this all the time every day non stop.
I have three days off my j job were i'm constantly talking and on my feet and pretty active. I can't afford to miss anymore work than that...
Someone please share your experiences support.
Idk if i'm more afraid of the iv actual surgery possible risks and recovery time... Not to mention my unpredictable boyfriend is the one taking me, staying and picking me up. I just want to relax... I've never been so anxious for dental issues, I think its the sedation i'm worries about honestly. Help, totally psyching myself out

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

In all honesty, I looked away and never felt the needle go in. I immediately fell asleep and woke up when the surgery was over. While I was asleep, I was given a local anestetic so I wouldn't be in pain when I woke up.
Just be honest and tell the dentist how you are feeling emotionally, and he will take it from there and do all he can to make your experience painless.
You will be just fine, don'e worry.
You can stop anytime you need to...if nothing more or less...than to rest.
It's just that the indicental pain or discomfort or loss of control that you feel is really a small reflection of the other types of these things you have had in your life. This is the trigger point.
It's hard to stay in the moment with these types of things. It's also hard to psych yourself into believing that this is a good process, but it really truthfully is a good thing...through and through.
You are experiencing a PTSD reaction to all this, I am sure. It's a conditioned reflex at a very powerful level. You'll feel pressure, but no pain.
Think of it this way, what if you were the dentist and they were the patient. Is there any other way to fix this problem?? There's not really...but this is temporary and it's going to yield permanent and positive results...in just a few days.
Aleve, which naproxen and is also an Nsaid is also good. Luckily the mouth heals extremely fast so whatever discomfort you will be in, won't last very long.
God Bless
