Hi everyone, I am new here so please be gentle with me. My feelings get hurt very easily. I made it through life into my 40's before getting addicted to any drug. in my 40's I took a percocet for the first time ever and it was all over after that, I got addicted. I was taking them for bad teeth issues, abcess tooth. Anyway, I soon found myself buying them off the street. I am VERY ashamed of this, VERY. I take full responsibility for my addiction problem. Yes, I do now have pain issues, no cartledge in my knees and I have lupus, COPD, Depression and anxiety disorder. I was soon taking 6 to 10 ten mg percocets a day. I wouldn;t have even believed it possible before but it's true. I do have strong faith in God and try to be a good person, but you cannot maintain a double life and feel honest about it. after 2 years on the percs, I went to my Doctor and confessed and said please help me get off this stuff. I had tried withdraw at home several times and could never get past day 3 and felt like I was losing my mind, the panic attacks, the anxiety was uncontrolable. Anyway, The Doctor put me on suboxone. 3 of the 8 mg pills a day, thats 24 mgs a day and I now know that was WAY to much for me, I fastly tappered down on them to just an 8 mg a day, and then to 6 after 3 years and then to 5 after 4 years and now year 5 I am on 4 mg a day. I am going to be honest, I have messed up a few times during this last year of going down to 4 mgs, I would think I hadn;t taken it yet and take another and end up running short a week before my new prescription. I want off these subs BADLY. The stigma I cannot stand. and each time I have gone down on my subs, was my idea, NOT my doctor.
I am very scared right now because since I went down to the 4 mg, I am having a hard time and don;t know if I can go down again. I want to but I see how many times I have run short since I went down to 4 mg. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? anyone with experience that is on or off of them? I truly need some advice. I am so ashamed of this addiction and to ashamed to tell my doctor that I messed up when I took myself down the last time. PLEASE someone respond. Thank you so much. RoseLans

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

The trick on those is to wean very slowly. My dr wanted me to wean off those, over a 3 month period but I was able to do it a little faster then that. If you feel like you are getting sick then don't ween so fast. You need to give your body a chance to adjust.
It would also help if you had some kind of support while going through this. If there are any NA meetings in your area, try attending one or two to see how you like it.
One of the biggest problems for me was in letting go of all that guilt and shame. It took some prayer and meditation to be able to do that. 8 years later, I am happier now then I have ever been. I wish the same for you.
Please keep me posted!
God Bless!
I had a 3rd Level fusion last year. I suffered from pain for 10 years and didn't know what was wrong with me. I got treated like a hypochondriac for years. take the Tylenol ale the Motrin, take them together, here are some really strong Anti- inflammatory's that will work … They didn't but they put a hole in my stomach. Finally I was given referral to a Neurosurgeon and his Nurse Practitioner took interest in me. I was so blessed she did. I got approved for an MRI. The results came back and they found 7 Herniated Discs in my neck and Bone spurs. I cannot tell you how much joy and closure it brought to me to finally no that I wasn't a Hypochondriac and that something really was wrong with me , which I knew but when you are treated in a certain way for so long you begin to believe it although the pain tells you different all the time.
So I had my surgery. The Neurosurgeon told my sister while I was in recovery that once he opened me up that I was much worse than he ever expected. He told me before surgery that If I didn't have it that my neck eventually would lock on its own . I had some Nerve Damage before survey now I have tons and its very painful. I take 5 10/325 Oxycondones a day and I am not ashamed of it. I can't live with pain it is not a good quality of life. I take yoga classes to and that helps a lot for mental stress as well. I used to be worried abut what others thought but no longer.
