My 27 y.o. son is addicted to percocet

My son went missing a week ago today.  He was supposed to check into a detox center; we didn't hear from him after leaving messages with the center; my other son made contact with an aquaintance who was supposed to meet up with my T,  the addict, and then get back to us but never did make contact with us; he told this aquaintance that he indeed was in the detox center for 2 days but hated the meds he was on which made him feel like a zombie and did not have counciling, he checked hinself out;  we found out "T' is living with a fellow addict; and 'T' does not want us to try to contact him, as we have been, because he's embarassed knowing he disappointed us. 


I'm gratefukl he's alive and living under a roof, though it's not the best 'roof'; but I feel like I'm holding my breath, I cry all the time, I slept 14 hours last night, I feel like a zombie.  How do I handle this?

You can't spend your life hoping that he will get clean. You will kill yourself trying to save him. As a fellow addict, it's so hard to get clean. And he can only do it when he's ready to do it for himself. If you keep doing this to yourself you're only going to hurt yourself and him. Pray, and pray again! He will do what he's got to do when he's ready to do it for himself. If you need to talk you can personal message me anytime.

They do not give drugs in detox that I know of. The whole idea of detox is to get any, and all drugs out of your system. The only drug I was given was Kaopectate for the diarea I was having from the withdrawals but that was all, I could have!

You know what the drugs were doing to him but look at what his addiction is doing to YOU! You need alot of support for yourself and alanon or nar anon are great places to find that support. You can google meetings in your area. In the meantime, I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

    So mad at Xfinity!  They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today!  Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
