Haven't touched a drop of alcohol in over 2 years. Past 6 months have had percs & norco (hydrocodone) prescribed for arthritis in my back due to arduous duty. Getting those old feelings creeping back in, I get that warm & fuzzy from prescribed dose, and want more. The definition of f-ing insanity. I replaced my alcohol addiction with another drug, and have picked up right where I left off: lying to my wife, pulling shady s--t, etc. emotionally exhausted & tired of having this demon in me. How can I be so good at so many things in life, but have no willpower whatsoever over things that will take everything from me?
I'm my own worst enemy, and can't take my own advice. Please don't feel like you need to offer encouragement, I'm writing this to vent, as well as letting that person on the other end know that somewhere out there a soul is feeling your pain alongside of you. Thanks all.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

The best thing you can do is begin by elinating your triggers one by one. Get therapy for your emotional and mental issues and don't have narcotic pain pills nearby. That's the biggest trigger of all, imho!
Let your doctor know of your addiction problems and stop lying. Get honest with yourself and you wife!
Honesty requires a leap of faith so keep in mind that something good comes out of every bad situation. Years from now, you will look back and be glad you picked off your triggers one by one.
I was just like you 6 years ago, I hit bottom so hard, I didn't want to live anymore! But slowly I crawled back up again. and now I have a happiness, I never dreamed possible! I have what I need and I am enjoying life more then ever!
I wish that for you! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless!
As for honestly, thankfully I am honest with my doctors. I tell the Dr and his nurses that I'm an alcoholic & don't want to have access to Percocet & the like. Right now I'm in the Guinea Pig phase of getting my back taken care of, so narcotics is the only thing that keeps me functional. The only problem is that it not only dulls my physical pain, but also my emotional pain. And I know most of you reading this know the feeling when your addiction kicks in and wants more of that feeling.
For some reason I've been having cravings lately for an escape, which is odd because I'm under a lot less stress than usual. Hell I don't know, damn this beast in me.
