If you or a loved one is struggling with presciption drug abuse, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, and meet others going through a similar fight. You don't have to struggle with addiction alone. Ask a question, give advice, share your story, and get hope for recovery here.

Norco's or vicodin as they were commonly called, was my drug of choice. I started taking two 5 miligram pills twice a day and 3 years later, I was taking five 10 miligram pills 3 times a day. At one point I nearly died having spent 3 days in the hospital with renal failure. I was on alot of iv fluids and by some Divine Intervention, my kidneys began working again.
If you are not stopping those under the supervision of a doctor, then the best way is to do a slow, gradual wean over a 3 month period. I was addicted so I could not do it so I went through a hospital detox where I was put on suboxone. Within 3 months, I was weaning off suboxone with no withdrawals.
The worst of the withdrawals should be over with in 3 days, but if you are still having a problem, go to the nearest hospital emergency room. They will put you in detox for a few days and give you alternate meds to help get you through it.
I am also a community Leader here so if you need anything, just ask. If you would like to share your story here, it might help someone else.

The way suboxone works is it plugs the opiate receptors in the brain but you can't get high on it. Also, you won't have cravings. Just 2 miligrams under your tongue, twice a day and you are good to go.
21 norcos a day is alot so I can feel your pain. You may want to go through a safe, hospital detox if you don't feel better within a day or two. Drink lots of water also.
It's always best to stop taking those under the supervision of a doctor but if you are doing it alone then you have more will power then I did.
Life gets better but you have to get through the withdrawals first.
Keep us posted.
