Bottle feeding a preemie

Hi, I recently had twins at 27w5d. We are still about a month away from bringing them home, but we are trying to get everything we need ready to go. Does anyone have suggestions on bottles? I will be breastfeeding/pumping and supplementing with neosure. I am torn on avent, playtex ventaire vs drop ins (cleaner?), or dr. brown's. I've read reviews on SO many bottles and it seems they all get similar pros and cons. I've mentioned it in the NICU and the nurses haven't suggested anything or told me what they use - the babies haven't started bottle feeding there yet. I may have to just wait and see, but if any of you have advice I would greatly appreciate it!

My daughter was born at 31w5d and was in the NICU for 4 weeks. They started feeding her with the nursettes and the standard nipples that come with them. About a week or two into bottle feeding, I brought in one of our bottles (avent) for her to get used to. Well she HATED IT!!! The only bottle she would take was the simple Evenflo bottles. They come in a 3 pack which costs about $4, I mean SIMPLE. It is pretty much the exact same nipple as the nursettes which is what she was used to. In 10 months I have never had an issue with the bottles and, because they are so inexpensive, I bought I bunch so I don't have to constantly wash bottles!!

My advice is buy what works for your twins. Preemies have issues learning to feed because they are early so don't fight it. Whichever bottle you choose, buy 1 or 2 and try it out in the NICU to see if they will feed from it.

Hi there! My sweet boy was born at exactly 32 weeks and spent 37 days in the NICU. For a while at home, he wasn't eating that much at a time so i continuted to use the bottles from the hospital. I eventually transistioned him to Dr. Browns. I really do love them and he does great. I feel like the nipples are similar.
Good luck with the bottle feeding. It can get challenging so just take your time and know that one day it will just "click". Everyone said that to me and I didn't think it would ever happen and it did...out of no where:)

Our OT recommends Dr. Brown's, and most of our preemies do very well on them.

just wait and c to b honest ask what the nicu uses when they start to bottle feed. my son was first on a slow flow nipple he hated that so they moved him to a habermin witch is like a really long nipple but u can adjust the flow by turrning the bottle just c what they use good luck
