I worked till the day i had my daughter, and up untill she was 6 months, but I left work so my fiance could work again. And i loved working but child care would be way to much for me now with another one on the way. Just wondering how many people who have kids work and how you manage or if your pregnant what are your plans?

My husband and I work opposing shifts. We have 2 little boys ages 1 and 2, and I am due for my third in october. I used to work full time, but being prego and having 2 little ones was just too overwhelming trying to work full time. I had a lot of respinsibilities and crazy amts of stress at work and it was just too much. I worked right up until the birth of my other two, but I just can't this time. We took a risk and trusted in God to take care of us when I left my job and took a job that paid half as much and gave me half the hours, essentially cutting my pay by 75%. My husband started applying for better paying jobs and recently got hired at another company that will make up for most of what I lost. :) We will still be working opposite times of the day tho. child care is just too ridiculously priced. We could never afford it.

I don't know if you would opt for assistance or not but many states offer a daycare assistance program for families who just can't afford the high daycare costs. I only have one child but I'm in college so can't work full time and my boyfriend has a decent paying full time job, I don't meet the requirements for free daycare but they still pay for some. I have a co-pay of $61 for a two week period. Going on assistance obviously isn't fun and isn't something people like to do, but with the price of daycare it was the only way I could afford to work.

I worked up until the day my son was born then back to work after about 10 weeks of leave. He's 4 know and I'm pregnant with #2 due in July. Have been seriously contemplating not going back to work full time because of the stress I've felt being pregnant, working full time and having a little one. Not sure I want to do all the juggling of working full time and being a mom. Definitely can't afford to stay home full time and also not sure I would want to. I guess my plan is to take my maternity leave and decide after about 2 months what I want to do. My job pays well and has benefits- so I also am scared about losing that. It seems that I know more women with 2 kids that only work part time or not at all, then ones that work full time.
