Well, I made it to 16 weeks, but my anxiety and depression seem to be returning. I ended up in the ER on Tuesday because of severe panic and nausea. My doctor won't give me any antidepressants because he says none are safe for the baby.
On Wednesday, I went to my doctor's office because of severe headaches, and he put me on high blood pressure medicine. (BP was 152/86) He said it was too early to diagnose preeclampsia, so maybe the Paxil was helping to keep the pressure down.
Anyone else struggling with anxiety and depression during their pregnancy?

Anyways, I'm not on meds at the moment, but my doctor did say that there are some meds that are safe for pregnancy. I know that Lexapro (what I took before pregnancy) is *not* safe.... I think Wellbutin (sp?) is safe? I might be wrong on that though...
Are you in the US? I think most US doctors are fine with prescribing Category B drugs during pregnancy... and it really depends on your individual situation. Sometimes *not* being on meds is worse than the risk of side effects from the meds (baby needs a healthy mother!), but that's something that you and your doctor have to decide together!
If you can't take any drugs, have you at least tried some counselling? That may help a little!
