i guess it would depend on where the pain was located...and if it was a come and go kinda thing....i would have to say to try to see how far apart the pain is....i kow when i went into preterm labor that it was like a stabbing tightness that takes your breath away....but then goes away completely..not for long thou. think from what i remember u r on bedrest..right? not sure why but if that is the case i would call the dr if it does not subside. im reallly not even sure how far along u are. i would also monitor any bleeding or leakage.

I am 30 weeks and I have been watching for bleeding and stuff like that but luckally the bleeding has stopped. I still spot now and then but I have been doing that through my entire pregnancy. I am going to see if maybe now that I am done with my research papers if the pain will go away, and if it doesn't stop by tomorrow I will deffinatly call my doc. Thanks for the advice.

What did the doc say? I have occasionally had sharp pains in my abdomen but I am only 11 weeks along.

My docs office closed early today so I guess if it gets to bad I will just go to the hospital again. It is starting to feel a little better though I think maybe it was just nerves or maybe stress but I am deffinatly going to mintion it at my appointment on Tuesday.

Well I went to the doctor today and told him about this pain I was having. As I was discribing the pain he told me that it sounded like I had a hard and long contraction that refused to stop. The more I told him the more he confermed that it was a constant contraction that lasted a couple of days. He asked why I didn't go to the hospital and told me next time I don't need to question myself I just need to go. Anyway I just wanted to update yall.

I've had two episodes of sharp stabbing pain (both at 18 weeks). Basically, what I have figured out is that I sleep in a twisted way and that I'm smooshing everything. I sleep so soundly that it turns round ligament pain into a charlie horse of my ab muscles before I wake up. The tightness starts from my groin, straight up to my belly button and as that relaxes, it fans out to both sides, one ligament at a time.

I bought a maternity pillow and haven't had any pain since then, except for the random round ligament pain that twinges here and there. I feel confident that it wasn't a contraction, but my stupid sleep position. At least I'm happy with my Snoogle Pillow. I'd be sleeping like a baby if I didn't have to get up and pee. :)
