I am on the fence. I have never wanted anything more than to bear my child and hold them for the first time and raise my child and to become a mother. In january I found out I was pregnant for the first time in my life. I was extatic! then in march i lost it. coping was very hard. I loved my baby with all my heart. I still feel a connection, a love for my baby, my child, even though it was never born. My ob told me to wait three months before trying again. It was three months to the day when i found out i was pregnant again. Im not nearly as excited as i thought i would be. It is hard to adjust to the idea that this is my 2nd child. This is not my same baby that didnt make it. hell its hard to adjust to the idea of being pregnant again. I dont want tto tell too many people this time witht the fear of the worst. Has anyone else concieved after a MC? how was it for you. i know this can be a very sensistive subject. I know the pain of losing a child. but how do you get used to the idea of this being the second child. the baby after the one who died. a DIFFERENT baby. idk. im so lost

Many of us here have conceived after MC. My first was a mc, I then went on to have 2 boys and am pregnant again. The only thing that helped me cope was just reminding myself that even tho i never got to hold my baby, he/she was still my baby was now an angel in heaven.

I have had to mc. This is my third pregnancy. I still have a hard time coping with the idea of being pregnant. I still don't feel connected to this baby at all. I just don't want to get my hopes up. I think everything will change once the baby is born and is safely in my arms. Then I also have some other issues that makes it hard for me to bond to this child going on as well. Also when you first see this child on an ultrasound for the first time you can't help but smile.

I felt very odd when I found out I was pregnant again. I felt like I shouldn't connect to the baby and constantly scared. When I finally saw the ultrasound, felt the baby, and things started clicking, my fears faded away. You will connect to this baby, sometimes it just takes a little time. You never have to forget the first baby. They'll be waiting in heaven for you to care for them.
