A week ago, I found out I was pregnant. I'm 19 years old and on the fast track to graduating college. I start my junior year in August (crazy right?) But, I'm pregnant. I'm six weeks along. I know the father, but he hasn't talked to me in four weeks. He ghosted, I guess. I didn't care until now, I have no want for him to be here but without him I'm alone. I made a promise to myself when I was 12 that I wouldn't be like the rest of my family and get pregnant before I truly lived. I have no idea what to do. I need help.
is abortion an option for you? i'm really not trying to be rude, i don't even know how to approach this type of situation myself, but i know that if i were in this situation an abortion would be the only option for me, to bring a baby into such an already stressful situation, without a father, will be very difficult on both you and the baby, as i'm sure you already know.
of course, you will still be able to finish college if you stay determined to do so, but it will be 300x harder with a baby to take care of. as long as you have the financial abilities to take care of the baby alongside going to school it will be do-able.
as for being alone, i know there are MANY online forums for pregnant women to discusses issues of any sort. a quick google search will probably get you at least ten places like that, so i definitely recommend checking those out for support.
it might not hurt to tell the father and at least see how he reacts.
again, i'm so sorry you're going through this. i'm here for you and if you ever need to vent i will gladly listen to you and send you virtual hugs all along the way. sorry i can't be of more help, hopefully someone who has more experience with a situation like this will comment.
