I went to the hospital yesterday because I had a significant amount of vaginal bleeding. I am almost 20 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with placenta previa. The doctor said that the placenta is completely covering the cervix. I had some bleeding today but not like I did yesterday. I am scared about the health of the baby and how long I will be able to carry the baby. I really hope that it will correct itself but from what I have been reading, when the cervix is completely covered the chances of it self correcting are less positive than partial coverage.
The doctor advised me to be on moderate bed rest. I don't know how much of bed rest I can be on with my little Daniel being only 22 months old. He is a handful. One good thing is that my boyfriend does most of the upkeep around the house anyhow. I was told not to do any house work also. I'm sure we will manage.
If things get worse, I will ask his mom to come and stay. I've already asked them to come when the baby is born and they will be staying for a few weeks. I will be having my third c-section and will need the extra help. I'm really greatful that I have support.

I had a previa until 20ish weeks. It did resolve itself. I found out early beacuse of bright red bleeding. From 2 months on I was on I was not allowed to have sex, exercize or do anything really physical. The house went down hill but my boyfriend has helped pick up some of the slack. I hope that yours corrects itself. my doctor said that most of the time it does. I will keep you in my prayers--- any bleeding can be scary.

I had placenta previa - got diagnosed at 12 weeks and it resolved itself by 22 weeks. I don't know if it was partial or full though. But from what my doc said it resolves for 90% of women. he also didn't mention any risk to baby - just that I may bleed a lot and to limit physical activity and lifting. He said not to lift more than 10 lbs. Don't know how you'd manage that with 22mo :( But since you're having a C-section anyway I think previa just changes your activity level and is not risky to the baby, so you should be fine.

I'm sorry about this complication for you! I'm sure the doctor told you that this condition also comes with an automatic c-section. But I'm sure you will do fine as long as you follow doctors orders. My mother had complete placenta previa with me and she carried me just fine up until her scheduled cesearean at 37.5 weeks. All this while working a full time job and chasing a 20 month old!
