Ok, so I'm 12 weeks pregnant. For the past week or so I've been noticing these pains in my hooha. If I were to guess, I would say it's coming from my cervix. It feels like sharp shooting pains and they last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes and I don't get them everyday. But, when I do it kinda scares me and makes me think my cervix is dilating and I'm going to have a m/c. The positive side of me says that it's the ligaments stretching (some low ligaments?) or just the pressure of my growing uterus on the cervix. But, if my cervix is not taking it so well now, I would hate to know about 6 months from now :(. It just scares me. My first pregnancy didn't make it past 6 weeks and this is the furthest I've been in pregnancy. I need some reassurance or someone to tell me that they've experienced the same thing and everything to turn out fine! Thanx for the help!

hmmm... I can't say I've ever experience that specific kind of pain, but I can say that my first trimester cramps are 100 times worse than my regular period cramps... My docs always tell me its just my uterus stretching and growing so rapidly. My first 12 weeks or so are very painful. it feels like I have cramps ALL the time... but then in the 2nd trimester it just fades away. It might be worth mentioning to you ob next time you go and they can take a peek and see that everything looks ok. Especially since you have aready had a m/c. Better safe than sorry in my opinion. Best of luck to you and lots of blessings for a safe pregnancy.

Hi! I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my second daughter and get the same pains you are describing. I asked my midwife about it and she said that it's fine and fairly normal for that to happen.

As far as I remember from 11 years ago that you don't feel your cervix actually dialating. I haven't really had a symtom like that but you cervix is a lot more sensitive now because you are pregnant. I still spot at times after intercourse.

I had the same pains when pregnant and it turned out I had a urine infection - may be worth mentioning to your ob :)
