yes actually its if your mother had negitive and you had postive blood you get a shot of something called rogan i believe.... I would ask your doctor if you are concerned....

One of my friends had this blood problem and had to have injections to keep her pregnancies from miscarrying. She miscarried many times until she went to another Dr out of town and he did tests until they worked out what was going on and how to fix it.

I've never heard of the jaundice being due to antibodies but I think it is more common in certain ABO blood types.

I think the shot you need to get when pregnant is for differences in Rhesus factor which is a sort of coating on your blood cells.
I think most people have it - they are Rhesus positive so they don't make antibodies to it because it's a part of them.
Some people don't have it, they are Rhesus negative. If their baby is Rhesus positive (because the father was Rhesus positive), the mother's body will think the Rhesus factor is something new and dangerous and make antibodies to it which could endanger the pregnancy. So all Rhesus negative mothers get a shot to stop their immune system from targeting a Rhesus positive pregnancy.

Definitely a good idea to get the shot if you are Rh -ve. I'm Rh +ve so don't have to worry about it. Your dr should tell you your blood type if you ask or you can find out when you go to give blood (not while you're preggers though!)

Actually just in case you are worried many women find they are rhesus negative during pregnancy, and generally this is not a problem as theAnti-Rh(D) shots usually start AFTER the first trimester! It is really important to go to the hospital to have the shot if you are rhesus negative and need it if you experience any bleeding. Is it importnant not just for the current pregnancy, but for the safety of future ones also. Most women have their blood work done in the early weeks so you will have time to discuss the shots and have them done when needed.

as long as you have a positive rhesus factor, you are fine, your baby can safely have a positive or negative rhesus factor. if you have a negative factor, you will need the shot because the baby cannot safely have a positive factor because your body will attack the baby like a foreign intruder, like your body does a virus when you are sick. the shot takes care of that.
a simple blood test on your part and finding out your blood type will answer your questions.
