No heartbeat

Has anyone ever had an ultrasound done where they couldn't hear the heartbeat but later everything was fine?
Last Thursday I went in for my first u /s . I was in my 9th week. They did an abdominal us and vaginal and couldn't pick up on a heart beat. According to paper I was 9wk6days and my baby measured 9wk1day. That's five days off.

I am going back in in the morning for another ultrasound to either confirm healthy pregnancy or miscarriage. I am hoping that my baby was only positioned in a manner where they could not hear the beat and all is well.

My nausea has almost completely subsided I still get heart burns and my breasts are still very tender.

I've had cramping but no bleeding of anykind. No fever or infection nothing! I'm hopeing with all my heart this was just a mistake and my baby is healthy. 5 days isn't much to be off by since we really aren't 100% sure when we concieved. Any advice?

My first U/S was at 5 weeks and there was only a very faint heartbeat. When I went back for my 8 week appointment there was a strong heartbeat. If they did a transvaginal U/S they should have been able to locate a heartbeat, but perhaps the baby's position prevented them from locating it.

What did the doctor tell you?

She is certain this is a mc. I'm just holding on to a faint possibility its not. Will see tomoro

So sorry to hear! :( Mine was considered "threatened" at 6 wks because her heartbeat was weak. She picked up strength though and by 9--10 wks she was beating like a champ! I lost my first baby to an ectopic so I know how it feels--BIG HUGS and hang in there! Praying for your little one to make a turn-around!

Sry to hear about your troubles, I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel or what is going through your mind. I see your post was on the 20th, I hope all is still well and that you have a healthy baby growing inside you.. I know god has a plan for every life he gives and takes.
