I just delivered a baby here in The Bahamas back in February with and OBGYN. I really don't know of any Midwives that have private practices over here. The ones I see work at the hospitals. At the age of 43, and with a diagnosis of PIH and GD, I don't think I would have been a good candidate for a midwife anyway.

From what I have read, midwives tend to lean more toward a more natural birth with less interventions. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

A friend recently went with a Midwive because she wanted a VBAC with baby #2.

I don't know if this is available in your area, but we have some clinics OB/GYN clinics that midwives work out of, which is nice if an OB needs to step in. I went with an OB because I felt safer. They have the medical knowledge, and I am unable to deliver naturally no matter how hard I try. Good luck!

I went with an OB at an all women practice and they are wonderful!!!

I had a midwife deliver me and I would chose her again in a heartbeat. My midwife had tons of patience with me and with a regular OB, I felt like they just wanted to get the baby out as soon as possible. Personally, I would go with the midwife, but ultimately the decision is up to you!
