What made out choice to keep my son Logan was 1) I don't agree with abortion....but thats my opionion 2) we are responsible adults and we made the choice to have sex knowing what can happen 3) if you dont keep the child, imagine your relationship after the fact....most people dont stay together and it normally ends the relationship.
Every women I talk to who has had an abortion has greatly regreated it. There is always adoption, but if you two stay together, that would make it hard down the road, ya know?
There is always a way to make things work....it might be hard, but there is always a way.
Before you consider abortion do research to find out how developed your baby is. Its little heart is probably already beating.
Remember you do have choices, but not every choice may be right for you. This is a deeply personal (and difficult decision) and you have to decide what is best for you and your BF. Feel free to email if you need to talk further.
Sending you strength during this time.
With this pregnancy I WANTED to get pregnant. Our infant had passed away and I wasn't finished being a mother and I wanted to have another baby. We actually tried to get pregnant. Once I did, however, I immediately had second thoughts. I realized that I wasn't emotionally ready to handle another pregnancy, that we still had far too much anxiety in our lives, and that my poor 3 (almost 4) year old hadn't had our undivided attention in over a year thanks to the previous pregnancy, birth, and subsequent death of our second child. Then I got very, very sick and have been bound to the house for the past 4 months. I considered terminating this pregnancy.
So even planned pregnancies can be rough. What I have learned, though, is that there is never a "good time" to get pregnant. You will never have enough time, be in the shape that you want to be in, have the best house, or be as financially stable as you want to be. Those who wait for the "perfect time" will probably be waiting forever.
If you choose to terminate the pregnancy, the sooner you do it, the better it will be for your body. I don't want to rush you because this is a huge decision and whatever you decide you want it to be the right one for you. You may also want to consider adoption as there are many families who cannot have children and would love a baby.
Children are a wonderful thing and pregnancy is very exciting and a beautiful thing but if you do not feel ready to be a mom, that is a very personal decision. You are stronger than you are giving yourself credit for and just remember that any decision that you make is what is best for you and your family.
I wish you all the best!
With that being said, at 18 I found out I was pregnant. I was young (obviously) and was making minimum wage, and my boyfriend wasn't making much more. We didn't feel ready so I had an abortion at 10 weeks. It was the hardest decision I've ever made in life and there's hasn't been a day that has gone by that I haven't though about that pregnancy. My baby would have been 5 this month.
Shortly after the abortion I started regretting it like crazy. I would see a pregnant woman or baby and just lose it. I've been desperate for a child ever since. My now-husband (the same guy) and I decided a year ago to start trying for a baby. I had two early miscarriges, 1 in July 2010 at 8 weeks and 1 just a few weeks ago at 6 weeks. It's left me wondering if maybe that first baby was my only chance at motherhood, that I took my only baby away. For all I know though I would've miscarried a week later. There's just no way to know and it kills me.
It will be hard; no matter what, becoming a parent is hard. It's the biggest permanent change you will ever make in your life. As for the money situation there's always help available. Try signing up for food stamps to help with your grocery shopping budget (if you file as a single, as in not married, mom-to-be maybe you'll get more). Things just have ways of working themselves out when you really want them to.
If it's something you're feeling so conflicted over, it sounds like your heart wants this and you're trying to convince your brain that it's a good idea. Just remember that if you decide to not have it that it's a very permanent, difficult choice, and very hard to go through. There's also the option of adoption, not sure if you'd be open to that. Maybe call planned parenthood or somewhere like that and ask if they have counsellors to help you with this.
If you go to the Miscarriage support group and read some of the women's stories, it'll probably scare the crap out of you, but more than likely it will make you want this baby.
I'm on here a lot; if you ever want to talk, just send me a message.

Thankyou so much for all the advice and kind words, they have been really helpful to me over this past week. We have still not made a final decision but in the past few days I have been feeling more inclined towards going through with the pregnancy. I know it will be really hard and change our lives forever, but I have so much support from my boyfriend and feel like everything would work out in the end. He has told me he will be there whatever decision we make and will do his best to make sure we are happy. With his level of support, I feel we will be able to make it work. I have never been against abortions, I believe that for some women and their circumstances it is the right option, but I have always been unsure whether I myself would be able to go through with one. Being in this situation, I am starting to believe that I would find it too hard.
I'm going to spend the next few days making sure it is the right decision and something I feel comfortable with. Then I will know what our final choice is. Again, thankyou everyone for your support and kindness.

There are very real risks to abortion too, and a lot of psychological harm may come to you from it, as some of the ladies here have attested.
You may be young, but you bf is ready to stand by you ! Yay! So many women have a man who leaves or threatens to leave unless they get an abortion.
Plus, keep in mind that you are 22 and 24. You are not teenagers anymore. You are more than capable of doing this!
Everyone else here has said that there is no perfect time to have a baby, and they are so right. I am now preggo with my fifth, an I can tell you only one was planned. It is so easy to think "Let us wait to get a bigger house, a new car, to finish school, better job, etc. Life is just not like that! Yo have been blessed NOW. Hopefully, it will be able to motivate you to continue towards your other goals, as some of the others here.
I hope you stick around and we all get to see your pregnancy update! Best wishes!
