My best friends mom had her period for the first 5 months she was pregnant and gave birth to a healthy baby.
I guess it all depends but I think it is not that common.

My Friends sister dint no she was pregnant until she had it on the bathroom floor, she had her periods all the way through never missed one, she also was partying and smoking all the way through the pregnacy (obviously she wouldnt of had she known) and she had a beautiful baby girl.

thanks for the input ya'll - reason i ask is- i have a friend that is still having all the pregnancy symptoms and yet she had her period- though it was late and she wanted to know if she should still go get a test or have a blood test done and i have no idea what to tell her? ... she is freaking out...

I had a friend who had her period all though her pregnancy. She said that it was a bit lighter, but she still had it.
I've actually heard of a lot of women having their periods while pregnant. Luckily I didn't have mine. I was sick enough, I could image adding wearing a pad during my pregnancy.. I would have been worse than a black widow looking for her next victim..

My mom had her period for the first 6 months she was pregnant with me so she didn't even find out she was pregnant til after then... It's possible

all the other symptoms are there - its just really strange.....

When I was carrying my first born, I bled for almost the first four months. Although it was on and off, I carried a perfectly normal child. I had to have scans all the time, but the rest of the pregnancy through till the birth was fine.
We're all different, I mean this time round I haven't had any spotting, or bleeding.

I bled but it was a miscariage it was a proper bleed which got heavier and heavier. I bled with my son after intercourse a little like spotting. I had a friend whos mum bled had a proper period all through her pregnancy until she had her child who is totally normal.i met people in the hospital who were bleeding and had bled with their other pregnancyies and the babies were absalutely fine. She had a 3 year old son with her to prove it and was bleeding with her 2nd child. Everyone is different. Any bleeding should be checked out though because people don't realise how common miscariages are until it happens to you and it turns out that 80% of your frines have too. Have you done a pregnancy test for the person?

nope she is supposed to take one this weekend - but she doesnt know what to think or what to do...

I had my period the first month I was pregnant. I know this because there is only one day I could have conceived...my birthday!

I had my period for the first 27 or so weeks of pregnanc!! it IS definately rare, but it does happen.And by the way, my daughter was born very happy and healthy, She's now in the 70th percentile for weight and 97th for height at nearly 3 months!!

i think she should have a pregnancy test or blood test (depending on how far along she thinks she is). good luck!!
