Welcome to the waiting room for anticipating moms and dads. Whether you're expecting your first or a new little brother or sister, meet other parents in this community who are also looking forward to a new addition to the family.
From then you have about 8 months to figure out the rest and prepare. It's more than enough time. Trying to plan too much before you get pregnant doesn't help much with timing.
Good Luck, you can do it!
Also, every pregnancy is different. I can tell you how mine went, you can read every book ever written and still find differences.
getting a house with space....check
going off meds .... almost check
not having natural octuplets like my husband keeps joking about ....um
and
picking up baby things my mom has
the rest is O_O oh my gosh are we old enough (we are late 20's though we sometimes act like we are little kids) and WHOA we are totally going to do this!!??!?!?!?!?!? be grown ups and everything?
then we get all mushy thinking about names, ad room colors and toys and playing with them
however if I have to watch one more video of a woman giving birth, I may just adopt -_-
Pregnancy? There is nothing more beautiful that a woman can experience . One of the only things that a woman will fight for at any cost.
Hope you get knocked up the first month!
Preeclampsia. Sometimes chronic hypertension or gestational hypertension leads to preeclampsia, a serious condition characterized by high blood pressure and protein in the urine after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Left untreated, preeclampsia can lead to serious even fatal complications for mother and baby.
Just a quick note I probably should have added in before, the BP meds are bipolar polar not blood pressure. Blood pressure is actually something I don't have a problem with ^-^
I will however now be watching my blood pressure when I get pregnant o_o scary stuffs.
Right now though my obgyn wants me to put off getting pregnant for the BRCA testing and some other genetic counseling because my mom had both breast and ovarian (she kicked both their butts and is a strong healthy woman). Something like waiting for another 8 - 12 months I believe she wanted. However my husband and I are choosing not to wait for everyone elses blessing, we are going to get me completely off my bipolar meds and be healthy that way. I get yearly and sometimes bi-yearly screening for cancer (since I would have to anyway with the BRCA testing) and fully understand there is a higher risk of me getting it than the normal 12% of women (as the doctor put it) but I am not going to live my life around a maybe.
So we are hoping to get knocked up the first month too, but we are trying not to get ...overly excited..... Very excited, because I will have been off all meds and out of my system by December 1st. My husband says every time he thinks about it he gets butterflies in his belly and spends the rest of the day grinning like a fool. He isn't sure if he want's a "daddy's girl" or son first. I don't think it will matter, any child will have him wrapped around their finger the moment we find out we are pregnant.
However after reading everything posted here I think I will look into more things I can do to prepare my body, I have been taking the prenatal vitamins and eating healthier, so i'm hopeful.
Only worry is I think our cats and dogs will be a little freaked out at another tiny body around the house :D not a really worry by the way, our pets are pretty calm critters.
