I think it's fine to highlight the "bump". It seems it's in vogue to do so now rather than to try to conceal it.
I'm just starting to show so until recently I was able to pretty much wear my regular clothes. I bought a lot of cute springy maternity dresses that I can't wait to wear when the weather gets nicer.
It's definitely about comfort. Soft fabric. Nothing too constricting.
I personally am very proud of my baby bump and I like to show it off. for the boob question, yes they have grown about double in size, which is a bit hard to get use to in such a short period of time so defiantly wouldn't want to emphasize them anymore then they already are.
And when I go out, yes, I like the focus to be on my bump since I only got it for a few months!!!
Clothes that make me feel sexy are anything that shows off the bump but does not make me look like a big blob.. loose clothing does not look good....
I'm just starting to get a little belly on me, and would be happy with maternity clothes that would compliment/accent my pregnant body. I think it's an amazing thing! No matter how we dress, the focus will be on our "bump" - at least at first. And, that's OK. The clothing must be comfortable though, very important. We are going to be uncomfortable enough, the clothes need to be as comforting as possible, yet still attractive.
Good luck with the collection! I'm sure we are all anxious to see it!
Breasts are definetly bigger, some people may want to show them off, some may not. It really depends.
I think highlighting the bump is great. I can wear whatever and my bump is still the biggest main part, that everyone sees first lol
But comfort is the main thing I think.
Good luck!!
or... not having ANYTHING that happens to fit that morning.. so i decide i just can't go out of the house.
Clothes... oh my.. our bodies change so many times in one day.. so many sizes for the hips, bust, belly... i have to change my clothes a few times or tie the waist tighter or loosen it.
If the clothes could grow, stretch, be comfortable, and look good... I say that would make me feel better on the inside... especially if i could look sexy too. (granny panties and giant bras with leak proof padding really doesn't do a world of good for the sexiness)
I have a few more things to ask. Would you feel comfortable wearing bright colours and standing out? Or do you already feel too much in the limelight?
Plus (as this is a christmas party collection) would you feel happy wearing dresses as they would be comfier, or would you prefer to wear trousers? Would you be prepared to wear the floor length dresses that are coming in this season?
The long dresses and stuff are great if they are slimming from the waist down.. not like a giant moo moo gown.
bright colors are great if the clothes fit right.
MY BREAST ARE BIG AND HEAVY SO SHOWING THEM IS NOT REALLY ON MY TOP 10 LIST BUT I AM PREG IN THE SUMMERTIME SO I AM HOT OFTEN SO A SHIRT WITH GOOD VENTILATION AND MOSTLY COTTON. SECOND QUESTION I WOULD LIKE THE MAIN FOCUS TO BE ON MY BABY BUT IT REALLY DOESNT MATTER. I HAVE MOST COMFORT IN COTTON SHIRTS AND PANTS. SEXY IS OUT OF THE QUESTION NOW I THINK I JUST LIKE TO LOOK CUTE. BUT DONT FORGET ALL MATERIAL 'MOST' HAVE SOME FORM OF ELASTIC NOTHING TO TIGHT AND I PREFER LOW ELASTIC BOTTOMS NOTHING REALLY OVER MY STOMACH MOSTLY UNDER. DENIM IS TOO ROUGH ON MY SKIN AT THIS TIME SO I AVOID IT.
HOPEFULLY THIS IS OVER WHAT YOU NEEDED IF YOU NEED MORE INFO BELIEVE ME I CAN SUPPLY YOU WITH ADDITIONAL INFO.
I love the idea of showing off the bump, at the beach, in cute tops, etc. Its great when you're out and at home. Fitted clothes look so much nicer on everyone then big bags.
I do think its important that at work and special events(ie weddings, funerals, etc) you try to be conservative and not "hide" the bump, but maybe not show it off as much, it should steal the show at work or a wedding!
We like comfort too! Actually comfort is number one for most of us! We walk around basically uncomfortable for 9 months, we need some relief somewhere!
As sexy as a bare belly bump sounds, we are actually pretty hairy and stretch marks arn't always beautiful. I'm hoping to sport some barebelly this summer, but I think I'll be embarressed by the hair and stretchies!
Remember that it isn't just about huge bumps! Its about women throwing up at first, skinny girls looking chunky later then the bump. It would be great to encorporate some of the other stages into your design! I say make sure and let us check out what you come up with! Hope we've helped!
but dresses as more comfortable as they are... look really stupid if not cut right... like it hangs straight down from the largest part of the belly (not a pretty sight) or it looks like we have so much fabric we are trying to dry off a wet elephant... so unattractive.
so I opt for the pants usually only because the dresses and skirts look really dumb most of the time if they are not made right.
We all carry differently.
some carry high and in front.. some are low and wide.. some carry heavy in the butt, some heavy in the chest.. some of us just balloon like round bouncy balls.
pregger clothes are difficult to find to fit... good luck with your project.
I really like the maternity shirts that are v-neck with a lower band under the boobs (the low boobs.. not the fantasy high perky boobs- i am preggers here)
and the midsection that fits the big belly (so that the bottom of the shirt is straight across after the belly is in it- the high rise front of the shirt bugs me... it needs to be the same length as the back of the shirt when wearing it)
I prefer to wear fitted tops. Anything that's lose fitting makes me look/feel huge. I DON'T like the tops with ties in the back. I don't mind showing off my bump as long as it's flattering to my figure.
I love designer jeans, but I just can't bring myself to pay more than $30 on jeans right now because I will only be able to wear them for a couple months. So, I'm having a hard time finding jeans that are tight and flattering on my butt. It seems like no matter how tight I buy maternity jeans I am constantly pulling them up.
I hope this helps some
