I'm sorry this is long but wanted to give a full picture...thank you if you read this...
I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday and was over the moon. But me and my boyfriend didn't have long to enjoy the moment as the next morning I started experiencing light brown discharge every now and then when I was active.
I had been getting abdominal aches and very mild cramping for the past week on and off which I thought was a period being due so didn't think anything of it. But after testing positive I had it confirmed that I was indeed pregnant.
So still having mild cramping and more or less a constant ache I started to get worried with this appearance of discharge. I read up about it and saw that it is actually quite common (i'm just over 5 weeks if my calculations are correct). I thought whilst I'm not in 'pain' i'll wait till I can see my GP. However later on after a couple more incidence and then seeing a small light bleed of bright pinkish blood when I went to the toilet, I rang NHS direct and asked their advice. They booked me in to see the out of hours GP service straight away.
Went to see her and she didn't seem too concerned. Although by then the ache/cramping had subsided quite a lot. She asked me to visit the Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan the next morning to be safe.
I got there in the morning and went to the loos only to discover I was again passing small amounts but more than spots of dark brown discharge again. The ache was still only now and then.
I was told it was too early on to scan me so they took bloods to measure my HCG levels and told that if they had doubled by Wed (today) it's a good sign but if they were over 2500 I could be scanned. Results came in on Monday and they were 1945 so no scan.
By now the pains had completely disappeared from Monday afternoon and I was feeling a bit better about things. I was still getting the discharge though when active.
Today I had the bloods repeated and was SUPPOSED to get the results after 4pm. However the hospital didn't ring. I waited till 5pm and phoned the main line and explained someone was supposed to be calling me. The reception tried to get through but guess what, they'd gone home!
What's worse is the pains have come back tonight. They are not unbearable and I'm not doubled over and I'm also not bleeding or having anymore discharge than I've been having over the past 4 days. However it is really worrying me now because this just doesn't feel right. Despite them not being severe, they are worse than they were before and the aching has spread to my lower back making it very uncomfortable.
As much as I am trying to remain calm through this it's very hard when I keep experiencing these cramps and not having the hospital ring me with my results has not helped matters. I could have been able to have a scan in the morning, and now I am probably going to have to wait another day.
If anyone has experienced this I'd really appreciate receiving some support right now. I'm doing my very best to stay as relaxed as I can but I am feeling quite scared now.

No need to reply anymore. Had to have a scan today as pain and bleeding worsened. Been diagnosed with an incomplete miscarriage.
