i completely understand where you are comeing from. it's compleatly natural to have those thoughts. the thing to watch out for is how intense they become and how intrusive. if they become too much meds can be prescribed or you can look into other natural ways of dealing with it. ( was lucky to find some that work for me as meds never worked for me) one of the best things is to stay connected and don't isolate yourself. hard when youre anxious but it helps quite a bit. you may want to join the PPD (post/peri partum depression) group or find a forum dedicated to it. (the one here has little action so you may not get the support you need)

Believe, it is perfectly normal to feel anxious about the precious cargo you are carrying. We all worry. You will be worrying about this baby for the rest of your life! Don't be afraid to let yourself feel the excitement, these are times that you will never get back. Enjoy them.
Have fun at your first sonogram tomorrow!! You will love seeing your baby for the first time. I remember my first glimpse of mine--her little legs kicked straight up in the air, it was so cute. First of all, congrats on your first baby!!!
And like the other ladies said, it's not just you bringing the anxiety to your first sonogram, it's all a part of pregnancy!! I got it every sonogram until we made it to the 3 month mark! (we got a lot of them because it twins this time) Then at the big 20 week ultra sound, the anxiety came back hoping that both babies would be perfectly healthy and normal! Now it's anxiety about hoping they grow at the same rate, are they moving enough, hoping to carry them to full term, hoping to avoid a c-section... It NEVER ends!! :) Then it all gets worse once they actually get here!! This is a great group to turn to for advice or just someone to listen, and then we will all graduate to the newborn support group together!! It's amazing to me that I waited till my 3rd pregnancy to join!! I absolutly LOVE it!!

Oh and by the way, How freakin beautiful is the girl in your photo?! Too cute!!

Thanks everyone. I feel isolated because I am the only one pregnant right now and everyone in my family is just like "you're ok." But sometimes I do need to vent and need someone to listen and assure me that I am ok.

I am right there with you!! I am almost 5 weeks pregnant with my first and I am a nervous wreck. About everything. I really want to be able to relax and enjoy this special time but I am having difficulty. Like you, I am reluctant to get too excited, just in case. I have dreamed of this time my entire life and I want to simply be ecstatic, but I find I am worrying about everything instead. I have several weeks to go before my first appointment and I just want my doctor to say that everything looks great and not to worry. Hang in there and know that you're not alone in what you're feeling!

Hi hun! Congrats on your pregnancy!! :) Nearly 10 weeks is great! You are definately not alone in the stressing out factor... With this pregnancy, I need more injections (2 shots every second day) we have lost one of the twins, and I have been haemorrhaging severely with labour pains for 6 weeks now... and I am STILL not as worried as the first time around!!!! :) I think first pregnancies are daunting for every woman, especially when we have had previous losses or difficult backgrounds (the anxiety and panic attacks etc) You may find yourself having distubing dreams, and worrying if your baby is going to have problems... All normal! Not nice to exerience, but we all go through the same anxious thoughts. You are definately not alone!! Feel free to message me any time with anything you are concerned about xx
