hi all im 34 weeks pregnant and went for my checkup yesterday. i had a growth scan and everything is going well the baby is growning well and sonographer said she happy with everything. She gave me an appox size of the baby at 5 and half pounds. When i went in to see the doctor after my scan she said that there was a slight increase in the fluid around my baby but its not really worrying. she said that it could be a sign of pregnancy diabetes, espec that the baby is measuring big.

Ive had to girls already and my first weighed 7lb10 and the second was 8lb 4 and i had no diabetes. She said that they will keep an eye on me and scan me again in 2 weeks time. i cant help but worry about it even though the doctor said its not to worry about too much.

has this ever happened to anyone??

Yes! With my daughter I also had a little extra fluid around her. I did NOT have gestational diabetes, though my sugar were on the high side. I also have babies that weigh around the same amount your did at birth. I kinda liked having a bit much amnoitic fluid, that meant I got extra U/S! LOL WIth my daughter there was no harm in the fluid at all, my doc just checked it every 2wks to make sure it wasn't TOO much, and she was born right on time, healthy, happy with no complications.
I'm 32wks in this pregnancy and the doc said I was measuring a bit big, so he was a little concerned there may be extra fluid this time too. If I'm still measuring big at my next apptoinment we'll do an U/S. I'm not worried at all, it just means I get to see pictues of my baby again! :)

thx for the reply. Its reasuring that other people go through the same. Thats what they are going to do in 2 weeks scan me again said they will keep an eye on me for the remaining 6 weeks!!! Its true for what u said at least i can see more pics of my little boy :)

hiya hun... went back this morning for my scan... Doctor asked me why i had a second growth scan i was like what !!!! anyway all seems to be fine said level of fluid is normal around out little boy, but metioned that he is big lol... that im looking at having a 9lb baby gosh that should be fun lol... hows things going with u ?
