I am now 13 weeks pregnant, and have now been cleaning up and clearing space to setup for the baby. I think that the dust brought on terrible allergies - lots of sneezing and runny nose. I have some Zyrtec in my cupboard, which is my usual remedy. Anyone know if this is safe?

My doctor gave me a list of safe over the counter medicines to take during pregnancy; for allergies it includes -
Claritin, Zyrtec, Chlortrimeton, benadryl.

So i would think its safe. But you can always double check with your doc. :) Hope you feel better.

Call your doctor since not everyone agrees, but my doctor lists these meds:

Approved medications: Claritin, Claritin D, Tylenol Sinus, Actifed, Sudafed, Benadryl, Chlortrimetron, Zyrtec, Zyrtec D

I'm also allowed to take my Rx Singulair since I have bad allergies all year long :)

I had bad allergies in the beginning but didn't want to take anything..I used natural saline nasal spray and it really helped to clear up congestion. Good luck!

Thanks. I did take on Zyrtec over the weekend, and am feeling a bit better. My next appointment with my doc is on Friday, so I'll take to him about it then.
