Ok I am so confused right now. I am 38 weeks +4 with my first baby and I have be losing my mucus plug for about 2 weeks now. I went to the doc on Tuesday and she did a pelvic exam and told me I and between 2 and 3cm with about 80% effacement. Today when I woke up I felt like I had to tinkle so I went to the bathroom and when I got up my pants was wet. I normally use the bathroom on myself but its usually just enough to wet my panties if I don't go as soon as I feel like I need to. When I told my husband I think my water had broken he told me to get dressed and we went to the emergency room. The doc examined me and she said I was only dilated 1 cm and about 15% effacement. So with that now I am confused because how can I be 2-3cm on Tuesday and then be 1 on Friday. Did my cervix close back up or was I ever above 1cm. I don't know who to believe. She did do a nitirizine test on me and it was a dark blue. Then she told me she had seen some amniotic fluid and it could mean I had a small pin hole leak. After she looked in the microscope she told me my water hadn't broken. Does anyone have any insight on this?

All I can share, which is not the same at all but just tells how weird the body can be, when I was in active labor with my 2nd, during a contraction I would be dilated to 9 and when It would stop I would go back down to 7. So maybe when you got checked at the doctor you had more pressure down there or something?? We all think that once you dilate you stay and only dilate more, but in my case that wasn't so. And it makes sense really. As far as the leaking, I have no clue. They always have to break my water for me. Good luck with everything hun! I pray that everything goes perfectly for you both :)

Thank you for your response. I woke up this morning and it was the same thing. This time I leaked in the bed. I told my husband if the same thing happens tomorrow I want to go to the civilian hospital to get a second opinion. My baby is still moving normally and I am having about 2 contractions in an hour so I will see what the morning brings.

i hope u have a safe delievery all my pregnancies were different but my 3rd sounds simialiar just stay hidrated and move around alot crouch down a lil with support and rub ur tummy labor is natural in its self you'll be ok update us on ur bundle :)

My water broke @ home in bed. It was summer so I was butt naked under the a/c. I turned over on my other side and felt a "pop" and then a gush, stoop up more gush.. I was in active labor in an hour.
Im sure its different for everybody too.
I have a friend who had a small leak like yours.Id prob go to the hospital like you are saying just to be safe too though.

I am the same as Bitt. After my water is broken, im pushing within the hour. Happened that way with me both times.

Well a bit of an update. I went to the doctor today for my regular scheduled doctors appointment. She checked my cervix again and I am in fact 2-3 cm. I told her how I went to the emergency room twice in the past week and they both said I was 1 cm. I felt her 2 fingers and then I felt her spread them. After that she twisted her fingers around and she said if I was 1cm she wouldnt be able to do all of that. So she swept my membrane and now I have some cramping and some shooting pain down in my bottom. Enough to make me jump. Almost like a shock if you can imagine something feeling like that. She also sent me to the Naval hospital and had me checked to make sure the fluid was not amniotic fluid. Well lets just say they sent me home in about an hour. So no I wait it out.

She also said my baby had dropped from -3 to between -2 and -1 so he is on the move. Lol
