My parents did basically the same thing. Around 5-6 months of pregnancy they finally came around and remember that once the baby arrives EVERYTHING is different :) Take comfort in that if nothing =)

My parents did the same mine even kicked me out for a couple of weeks and I had to stay with my grandma. It took them along time to come around but a couple of weeks before he was born they finally realized the baby was coming weather or not they liked it or not. Now they are a huge part of my son's life and the second time around they just accepted it from the beginning. The pregnancy was hard and I felt so alone all the time nobody at my school could relate and my parents dissaproved. Hang in there! It will hopefully get better when the baby comes.

You said that your mom cooled off about it, maybe you can talk to her and she can talk to your dad about letting your boyfriend stay with you. My mom was very concerned when i told her, being that i was in another state and my dad of course was upset...i think all dads get upset over that. Does your boyfriend have family he can stay with? Maybe you can get child caring class and couples consuling, you should get support from that. Just ask you doctor about it. Im sure you dad will calm down about it bc at the end of the day you have a lie inside you that needs love and care. Try not to over stress, thats not good during pregnancy.

I am the parent of a 15 year old with a pregnant girlfriend...I know how your parents must feel. They are shocked, disappointed and angry at first ( at least I was !), but they react this way because they love you and are concerned for you and this turns your world upside down, as well as theirs ( if you continue to depend on them for food, housing and financial support, of COURSE this rocks their world! ). But they will also come to accept it and to love that baby. My suggestion is that you sit down with them and let them know how you feel and ask for their support - don't demand it or expect that they will feel good about this right now. Let them know you care and your are prepared to act responsibly. That means this baby is YOURs to raise - you got pregnant - not your parents' job. Work on this with them and they will respect your decision. If you assume that they will automatically take care of you and the baby, then you are taking advantage of your parents. You can set a much better example for them by acting responsibly and giving your all to the pregnancy and baby's well being.

Dani - I too live in Florida ( South Florida - Around Sarasota ) .. Im not a teen mom, but Im finishing my degree now in social work. I just did some hours at a program for teen moms on campus at high school. They were amazing. I discovered that it is mandatory for this to be offered to anyone expecting or parenting in the state of fl ( both mother / father).. Has anyone approached you about attending an alternative school.. on/off campus. The would provide assistance with dipars, formula and provide parenting classes, but most importantly, I think that this would be a good opportuntiy for you to be able to learn to work with a social worker, maybe get into some individual / family conseling.. and talk about this..
I know its a difficult issue, for both sides of the family.. but sooner or later they have to adjust to the fact that this baby is coming; and whats done is done. Learning to work on the postive's.. would be a more constructive method.. which is why I suggested an alternative school; to maybe help aleviate all your mom/ his moms concerns.. about what you are going to do about school.

These programs provide FREE daycare while you are in school, and allow you the opportunity to finish hs, and work with vocational programs and community colleges as well , to establish a future after graduation. They offer great parenting programs, lamaze classes ect.. that I think would greatly benefit you..

If you are interested in something like that.. I would make an apt. to talk with you school guidence counselor, and let her know what you are looking for..

my mom was totally cool with it. she was just like ok. but later i found out that she thought she was pregnant at that time so she was scared for reasons i didnt know. but after she found out she wasnt she has been very excited to be a grandma. and as far as i know my dad still doesnt know that im pregnant and im 5 months now but my bfs family is very happy and excited. so everyone has been really accepting in my situation.
