I do not know what the law is in canada, but in the US your mother would not be allowed any rights over your child. Its your child, not her's, so she can't just take the child from you. And legally you aren't an adult until age 18 but you still have legal rights over your child.

If there is no emancipation in canada, then I'm not sure how you would become legally responsible for yourself...you can probably get a free consultation with a lawyer though to find out. Many lawyers do free consultations, there are even online sites to talk to a lawyer, just be careful about that to make sure you are getting good info.

I would think its mostly the same though because its hard to believe they would allow your mother to take your child! Well speaking from a US standpoint, your mom has no legal rights over your baby, and I'm pretty sure that goes the same for Canada.

By law in the US, once a person becomes pregnant, they are able to make all legal decisions over their baby without the consent of their parent, or legal gaurdian - however this has it's limitations with abortion because that effects YOUR body, not just the fetus.

However, it sounds like you are seeking help to raise this child and choose life, which is great either way.. Planned Parenthood is a great place that provide you with low cost / free services, as well as pre-natal care and ultrasounds to make sure your baby is healthy and answer any questions you may have.

Their is also a great group called MOPS for teen moms, you can google that and see if it meets in your area , to try and meet with other teen moms to get some support and advice.

You need to be very vocal, if you are ever forced into a doctors office and asked to have a procedure you do not want. Any liscened OBYN will not preform the procedure unless both parties provide consent.

Grand parents have nights in too court get them taken away prove she's unfit too see your baby I mean if she was a harm too you she's a harm to your baby.

It is true that grandparents have rights, but they can only take over the parents rights if the court sees the mother unfit to make the choices. You seem intelligent enough that the court would not take your rights away, therefore the grandparents could not get those kinds of rights. She may try to get visitation, but the court will probably hold that you have the right to make that decision.
