Oh yes, the prednisone will make you feel like you are in a hot steam bath, I hate the hot flashes and night sweats..hope you can get off it completely! Marcie

You are definatly not alone. I have steroid indused Cushings syndrome also. I suffer the same symptoms as you I could go on for hours about prednisone.

I got to decrease to 25 mg last week after switching to Asacol three weeks ago. Doc took me down 5 mg, instead of my usual ten, and I noticed a HUGE difference in my reaction. I was less exhausted, less irritable, and less moody. Even if it takes longer to wean off and I keep moon-face, I'm happy to feel more like myself. Decreasing ten mg was making me unrecognizable personality-wise. I really, really, really, REALLY hope my symptoms don't return and that the Asacol doesn't cause the awful side effects that the Pentasa did. Otherwise, I'll be right back up on the 'roids. But...TODAY is a good day. And I'm grateful.

Well, I am still on my 40 mg. My doc isn't going to consider weaning me off for at least another few weeks. I have noticed, and I'm sure that I've said this before, that the side effects aren't as bad this time. It seems as if my body is getting used to the dosage or something. If this would have been two years ago, I would have been having alot of crappy side effects.

My moon face hasn't even really started to kick in yet. I have actually LOST 8lbs since I've been on it...and I lost it due to diet and exercise.

So, this time it isn't as bad as it could be....

I am still weening off and I am miserable. I have been at ten for a while but my body doesnt like. It wants MORE.
I am just so tired of this. I am so big I dont know myself anymore. I cant get comfortable I cant be productive hardly at all. And I am so tired. Sorry to whine but nooned understands. This is not the way to live. I cant go anywhere I cant work I have no income...all I have is a distroyed body because of steroids.
I still have asthma and allergies so what was the point of all these meds..Im still wheezing.
Sorry just soooo sad....

Steroids have done a number on me to, I hate the thought of ever having to be on them again, I pray to God that I won't! Getting off them is as hard as being on them, you feel so tired and useless. Good luck to all that has this battle.

I've been off Prednisone for two weeks. (40 mg for almost two years) Moon Face is getting worse. Eye lids are brutal. What's on my face is now on my hands and..... ummm..... elsewhere. :)

Fatigue, sore joints, Very blurry eyes, migraines are wicked too. I gained weight since coming off, not too much though. Appitite was better while on it.

How long can this last? From what I can see, I figure max 5 weeks? This is cruel.

I'm a little confused though, Doc says sometimes it's a little hard to say if these symtoms are those of Crohn's, side effects of coming off of Prednisone, and may even be both.

I take it personally when it comes to prednisone. I have severe crohn's & I have been on it how many times now about 5 times up to 40mls.I find that every time I go on it my ankles hurt really bad, I have night sweats & I gain sooooo much water weight I can't even tell what my real weight is!
Then there are plenty more side effects.
I HATE THEM!!!

The prednisone has made me gain weight and feel like I want things that I don't want to do. It doesn't make sense to me I can't get my brain right. I have a lot of mood swings I just really don't like this drug.

does prednisone cause brain damage? I've read several studies and forum accounts of people who have had memory damage and possible brain damage on prednisone. I've been prescribed it by my doctors for asthma and took it at a pretty high dose

I am having a terrible time. The sweating is embarassing as is the 70 lbs I have gained.
I now have to remove hair from my face, and the stretchmarks are placed in a place that makes me have to wear a bathingsuit with shorts.
The worst is the anxiety and aggresion. I am moody and am trying so hard not to be. I worry about snapping at my husband and son, it all sucks.
I have no relief from my side effects and am so ready to just start tapering on my own.
If anyone gets relief from prednisone side effects please let me know what you do.
