Precocious Puberty Support Group
Early pubic hair, breast, or genital development may result from normal but early maturation or from several abnormal conditions. Early puberty which is normal in every way except age is termed idiopathic central precocious puberty. It may be partial or transient. If your child is going through early puberty, share your experiences here and get support.
I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I believe my little one who just turned 7 starting showing major signs at 4. It started with body odor, small breast and I could not control her weight. She was always over on her bone growth by 2 years...I guess until the pubic hair appeared, the doctor was not so sure.
It is hard to deal with. We have had the supprelin implant for 6 weeks and I am just noticing a slight change in her emotions. She has had PMS for about 9 weeks...very crappy all the time. There have been days that I thought I would not make it...but I just have to compose myself and remember that I do not understand all that is going on in her head.
I am here for you! Keep your head up!
Debbie
We jsut found out not to long ago that our 4 year old has it also. We also learnd from her MRI that she has a lesion. It is hard at times be you will get through it. My daughter has the lupron shots. She has one every 21 days. They are not as bad as I thought they were going to be. I already see a big differnce in her moods. She has her good days andher bad days. Her bad days mainly happen about the 17th day when her body knows that she is due for another shot.If you ever want to talk I'm here.
Your daughter just needs lots of hugs and kisses, we kinda baby our daughter a little bit with all this going on. Good luck.
We were fortunate that our pedi at the military hospital is one of the few drs around here that has no issue about referring out.
We finally saw a endo in Louisville and she ordered a stims test (more accurate blood work from my understanding), a pelvic ultrasound and a brain MRI. These are going to done this next week or so.
For some odd reason, I'm praying there is something causing this and not just ideopathic in nature. As horrible as it sounds. ( I hate admitting that!)
Since she isn't talking much, her hormone meltdowns are horrible. We have about 5 to 7 major meltdowns a day normally. I seem to be the one person in my family that she goes to and its extremely frustrating at times.
Don't feel like you are alone. I am glad to find this board because as much as everyone around us wants to understand, even my husband, I don't think he gets the full implications on this on her life and mine at this point.
Yes there is. My daughter just turned 5 on 2/15 and she also has it. She looks like she is 9 years old. She has breasts and is 4ft tall, body odor. She also has what they call haratoma of the tuber cinereum. I'm sorry to hear about your news. If you ever need advice don't hesitate to ask.
I just joined this group to help people who have children with Precocious Puberty. I was diagnosed with Precocious Puberty at the age of 4. My Mom was very attentive and luckily caught it right away. I was put on Lupron for eight years. I am now a healthy, five foot seven and a half, 125 pound, perfectly normal 22 year old female. Lupron was simply amazing. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need advice. :)
