Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS) Support Group
Premenstrual Stress Syndrome (PMS) is stress which is a physical symptom prior to the onset of menstruation. PMS is exceedingly common, occurring in 75% of women of reproductive age during their lifetime, characterized by symptoms of mood swings, depression, anxiety and irritability. It is often accompanied by physical symptoms such as bloating and cramping.
I took Yaz for about about 6-7 months, the first 1-2 months I would say I had very bad nauses feelings, no vomitting, just that nauseating feeling, it helped me chew gum or eat some candy (small and not in exageration) to be able to handle the nauseating feelings and forget about it in away. So, after that 1-2 months the nauseating feeling went away and I got used to the pill. It seemed like the first 3-4 months my emotions had improved abit, however I was still feeling very depressed 1-2 weeks prior to having my period, I felt very emotional, very sensitive, with crying spells and nothing seemed to make it better. as soon as my period came though I would feel better, so I feel that my body could not handle the addional hormones. The last 1-2 weeks of May, I was feeling more depressed than any of the past weeks prior to my period and that is when I decided to stop taking the pill. they say the pills works differently for everyone. The nurse that prescribed it to me, says that is one of the favorite pills for most women she works with, but it did not work for me. Its good that you are doing your h.w. and getting informed on how it has worked for others. It will be good for you just to observe and notice any changes that you may notice in your mood and body every day, just take it one day at a time, but each day is difffernt and if possible journal/chart your emotions throughout the month and see if you notice any patterns, it helped me to see that the pill was just not working for me...

right now i am having headaches and depression and stuff but it's 1.5 weeks until i start my period so that's normal. it takes a while to kick in i guess, but my therapist says it helps a lot of kids she knows so i'm a little hopeful. i don't think i feel nearly as bad as i usually feel before my period. i don't want to die or anything. so i think it's better. and i'm not eating as much as i usually do before my period. i'm just a little nauseous sometimes, but i feel okay. so hopefully it will just get better until i don't have pmdd symptoms anymore.

so i can't really be on a different birth control because that wouldn't help and i can't be on something else for pmdd because i need the birth control.
