Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS) Support Group
Premenstrual Stress Syndrome (PMS) is stress which is a physical symptom prior to the onset of menstruation. PMS is exceedingly common, occurring in 75% of women of reproductive age during their lifetime, characterized by symptoms of mood swings, depression, anxiety and irritability. It is often accompanied by physical symptoms such as bloating and cramping.
i was on femcon which is another birth control but it gave me migraines and stuff so now i'm on yaz for pmdd.
I looked up Yaz on www.askapatient.com and it didn't sound good for some.
But you are young and it might be OK. Might be the right thing if it helps you as it helps others. My OB GYN told me that most women love it.
But at 43 and after many tries with birth control in the last few years, I decided I'm too old for birth control pills.
It seems Yaz can also affect your kidneys. I read how this potassium thing works, but it was a while ago. It seemed to me it caused your kidneys not to process something right.

I hate to be a party pooper on Yaz, but I feel like I'd be doing a disservice if I bit my tongue here. I was on Yaz for 4 months before it became clear that it was not working for me. I started having severe anxiety, shaking, panic attacks, and persistent tachycardia. I lost my appetite for 2-3 months. I couldn't sleep, but staying awake sucked. I had NO energy, but felt like I had drank a tankard of espresso! (it's hard to describe the feeling.)
In short... I had a very bad experience with this pill. I'm still on Lexapro to try and control the anxiety. Sorry to be a bummer, but I just have never had anything like that happen to me, and it really freaked me out.
