I used to do yoga, but ... when the shit went *really* bad in my life ... I stopped.
I pretty much stopped doing everything.
But somebody sent me this link:
http://www.irest.us/
I found a teacher, who works in the town where I'll be, over the weekend.
Last minute, I reached out to her. She has time to slot me in for a single 75 minute session, on Monday.
With luck, this will jump-start my practice -- something that is totally portable, can be done with NO gear, and ... in my experience ... has helped me, in the past, with stress and overall wellness.
Maybe it'll help others, here, too ??
I wish you all peace, health, strength, and flexibility :-)

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I look forward to the updates.
I think yoga is amazing - I've pretty much stopped doing everything as well but I am feeling inspired.
Thanks, Jaded.
Thanks, Jen. I was reading a PDF, earlier, of an interview WITH Dr. Bessel van der Kolk on exactly that topic :-)
I wish I'd come upon this a few months ago. I might have made the trip to his clinic.
Ah, well. I'll get what I can from a single session, and try to put it into practice.
Stay tuned.... :-)
I lived most of my life in a big city and I used to belong to a weekly meditation group there. Now I live in the beautiful but remote countryside, and I miss things like that. Way to go, David!
