It wasn't IT trouble that kept me from logging on this time on my trip between Mexico and the US. It was a series of travel mishaps such as I haven't seen on a trip in years. Weather canceled a connecting flight that left me grounded for 24 hours unexpectedly in New York City. From there on it was a sequel of one of Chevy Chase's "Vacation" movies, y'all. Holy cow. It's good to be home, and good to be back on DS PTSD. Glad I posted here to say I was going on a trip just in case before heading for airport in Mexico. Ya nevah know...

patti, I lived in Guadalajara when I was a kid. I NEVER saw weather like that. That IS crazy. Whew!

Wow.... I can't believe Mexico city is covered in ice. When I think of Mexico, I think of a hot dry climate, not ice! It reminds me of the thick ice we had back in Feb that covered our Mt. Haleakala for a week. Like Mexico, we don't have snow plows so we just had to wait for it to melt naturally. Roads up there and the national park was closed for a week.

Muji, were you able to make your trip, though?

I'm glad I did. Next day I tried driving my car I'd left sitting for a month, but the rains while I was gone rusted the rear wheels solid. Who ever heard of that? Had to have it towed, then $465 in repairs. Yikes. That kind of thing can put amp the "S" up in my PTSD....

In Mexico I don't need a car in the city where I'm staying....Ah, looking forward to retiring there for good, ya know?

I'nm exhausted. This doxycycline thing has ripped me apart and I'm eating crackers and water. I can't take (anything) or eat (anything) except saltines and toast and maybe unbuttered watery mashed potatoes. Are we sure the cure isn't worse than the possible disease?!?!And a week to go. ***Fun cures that WERE worse than the disease:ARsenic. Popular against STDs, which just compounded misery...
