In different times in my life when I have had something traumatic it has helped me a lot to write it down. I have written poetry or a song, or just pages and pages in a journal. It is a way we can express ourselves and let it out and know we an say anything and just let go. The anxiety part, I have felt that as well because just as you are retelling what has happened you are having to relive it and it is an emotional process. At least it has been for me. I think it's good for you, but don't forget to eat and drink fluids and sleep. Before you know it half the day is gone...I have done that and I haven't eaten or drank anything. Take care of yoursel and good luck! Hope this brings some healing for you.

I am the same way. I feel this need to get it all out. And I never fully get it all out. I have many journal entries about various aspects of my story. I think it is a really positive thing to get it all out and write it all down. Even if you don't ever go back and read it, just to get it out. But if you do decide at some point to go back and read, you'll be able to see how far you've come since writing it. I don't really look at my old journals very often, but the couple occasions that I ave, I was amazed at how far I've come since I wrote them. So I definitely see it as a good thing. And yes it can definitely bring anxiety thinking and writing about those things.
