I am emotionally hurt and wounded because I was not invited to an after party. I belong to anot her volunteer group they had a fund raising lunafest film showing this week.
All the members of the group were assigned roles but me. I wrote the head of the committee and said I could volunteer. She wrote back "good to know". I never got the call to volunteer but I did pay my ticket and my mom's and we had a great time.
I wrote all the members and said congrats on a well run event and another sucessful night. One lady wrote back and said, thank you but we missed you at the after party event we had for drinks and food. Now I just feel left out and bullied. I did not let on that I did not get an invitation.
I have suspected that the lady who headed up the event does not like me. I told myself you have not proof that is true but I do know. I was the only one in the group with no work to do and the only one no invited to the after party. That sent a clear message.
I just don'the belong anyplace. I just think don't fit in. I know I am really hurt by this and I don'the know how to handle this. I guess I will just not renew my membership.
I guess I really don't belong there. These women are all professionals, lawyers and doctors, teachers and professors. I am way out of my league and I think I just got the message to go back to stowage where I belong.
I just don't understand why people hate me so badly and just keep hurting me. I feel rather bad I gave them a compliment.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Dunno. . . For certain, it be murky turf.
Continued support while you sort your own, CC.
Arfie, lots to chew on with your post. Thank you. I really do not know how to handle situations like this so I end up trying to people please and people still end up hating me. I just cannot seem to win. Than I get angry with myself for allowing me to be walked on. I will avoid conflict at all cost. However, the pain and hurt continue to brew until eventually I blow up and then people are shocked because it is so unlike me. I need to get better at tactfully and skillfully handling these things but when I object to something I usually get slammed.
Another part of the problem is my lack of money. These folks in this group are all really well off. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, etc. Anyway, this lady suggested I put it in dropbox, which has a 30day free trail and then 17.95 a month. Sure nothing for her to pay, but for me, that is a lot of money. They do not see my financial limitations.
I should just quit the group. My doctor's wife is part of the group too and it was a bit weird the other night at Lunafest because he was there. We were both uncomfortable and feeling a bit weird.
i'm so sorry you are hurting from the way you were treated, that sounds so unkind. that whole social thing is brutal. i don't know how 'they' do it, if they care, in this social side of their public lives. i think they have to run so fast they cannot make time for a quick stop anywhere.
i'm glad there is you xo
But in all, I would just keep being kind to them even if they're rude. (Usually when I get rejected I don't mind cause then it means I can do stuff I want to do)
Anyways I hope this helps you on some level.
((Hugs))
I experienced something similar in college. I was bullied and left out no matter how much I tried.
I learned that this was not the group for me. What I think might be helpful for you to also learn is that not everyone is going to be the perfect fit for yo so you have find the right fit. Trust me I know exactly how you feel and the hurt you have but you are not alone. Try and find a group that has similar interests and mindsets as you.
I really hope this helps!
thank you for the continued support. It has been a bit of a rough month and my emotions have been very up and down, well mostly down. Lots of things going on, new boss, losing my volunteer job on the support line, backing out of another volunteer job, car repairs, leaking roof, more car repairs, more car repairs, lack of money for more car repairs, credit cards over their limit, lots of rain days (grey and depressing), now being rejected, etc etc etc. Lot of little annoyances adding up. Today is also the anniversary of my Dad's funeral 2 years ago. It was shortly after the funeral I lost my job and was hospitalized. It just seems to be one thing after another.
I will get through this, depression does not last forever
