I have been posting about my adults daughter's inability to manager her anger and her abusive behavior. Today I had enough and laid down the law. It felt good to finally take steps towards living a peaceful life. Today at 3pm I woke my daugher to inform her someone was coming to repair the ceiling in her living space. At 3pm I felt she should have been awake especially since we are in the process of moving. She called me rude and I left only to return at 4pm to find her and her friend still sleeping. I woke her again and she starting her screaming and throwing things and then called my mom and told her to go F herself for not answering the phone. I told her very clearly via text since she would not answer the phone and told her that prior to her being able to move with me she not only had to go to therapy she had to make the appointment, go to a session, and continue to go until the therapist releases her. I also told her she needed a job prior to moving and made it very clear that if she ever screams at me again l would call the police to remove her form the house. Even though I do not think she will seek the help or she will do it because she has no where to live- It still feels good to finally tell her how it is.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

TOTAL support mom. TOTAL support.
Parenting is HARD.
Dealing with a challenging child is a thousand times harder.
When my child was stuggling, I had so many people say so many cruel things to me. They just have no clue, they just have no clue.
My advice is make sure you follow through. My sister is a nightmare and when my mom did not follow through it made things way worse. I do not want that for you.
Saying good job, is saying that before it was a bad job.
None of us have any idea of why this girl is staying up late.
But...statistics are 1 in 6 girls are sexual abused. So...if I even half believe, heck even if I only believe 1/10th of the statistics, my bet...is that the girl is dealing with some sort of trauma. At the least we know that dad isn't around and that mom is struggling with this all alone, trying to work, trying to pay bills, maybe dealing with a bit of her own trauma.
But hey, we're all adults. So supposedly we've all got our stuff together, we're all working full time jobs plus, have our houses paid off, never filed for bankrupsy, even WITH our PTSD, trauma, nightmares....
It's coming up on Mother's Day here in the US. And I want to say THANK YOU for all of the countless hours that you've put in trying to be the best mother that you could. Raising a child with issues is a thousand times harder than raising a child with no issues, that always excells in school, gets great grades, and awards.
Between my daughter and son...my daughter was cake. My son is the one that made me a real parent.
Look, I don't know what the best thing to do with your daughter. All I know is that of all of the people in the world, YOU probably care the most.
Hugs, MOM, TOTAL support.
I got PTSD as a war child growing up on the mission field abroad with boundaries constantly violated by stuff like car bombings just when going out as a family for ice cream. There was no respect for boundaries in my world growing up.
It's great that you drew some lines around yours now. It's always been a huge relief whenever I've drawn mine. It does mean following through with them as well, I've found.
My family was abusive and living in war zones was their real mission because the chaos provided them with cover. Since emancipating myself from them, they have sent ex-FBI agents to stalk me at work. Yep, I said ex-FBI agents. I reported one of them to my Human Resources department, though, as workplace harassment, and got it to stop. Then the ex-FBI agent stopped me one day off campus in the street, and I told him personally where to go. It felt good.
Total support me, too, mom. In my case the roles were the other way around, it my was parents who needed to be told to observe my boundaries as their adult child, but the principle is the same: boundaries. The fact that you're moving to a new living space seems like a real opportunity to establish healthy ones now.
Big squishy hug.....xo
