I have come to wonder if absolute certainty is one of my meanest psych symptoms. With the recent downturns in the welfare of my grandchildren (2, 5 and one on the way), my heavily theraputed worry habits have been seeking absolute certainty for all. Alas, when I get experty, my expertise tends to declare other people incompetent while I start forcing solutions that are not overly practical. Insert therapy exercise here.
This morning finds me contemplating the difference between "Absolute Certainty" and "Self-confidence."
My contemplations of absolute certainty bring me images of a 2 year old throwing a tantrum in a grocery line because that candy bar they want is the only thing that can make things right in the world.
Self-confidence has the strength to persevere, whether I get what I think is best, or knot. I can work with what life sends me on life's own terms.
Thoughts? Reality checks? Tacky attempts at humor? Am I making sense?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
FOr me, the problem is not in the wanting certainty but in trying to enforce one on all, when one size does not fit all. But then too much "wiggle room" means bad things might happen. ANd then and then and then and then... I find I've swallowed my own tail. ...
So, yeah, work with what you get and not with what you can't, I guess? You're keeping an eye on you and on what matters to you, and nobody can ask more of themselve sor otherse, IMHO.
Gentle support to you and to your GKs. Sort as sort can...
hugs.
For sure, in my strictly personal herstory, the days in my life where I was most certain I was the rightiest right in the whole right pack were the days I was being put into restraints and pumped with heavy doses of anti-psychotics.
Doesn't want to go *there* again. . .
