In my live support groups it is fairly cliche when group members trigger one another. We share common, volatile issues, after all. Within live group dynamics, members who trigger one another often form deeply healing bonds. We are able to help one another defuse the triggers and heal the wounds which most need healing.
I have tried this in on-line groups and it has yet to work. It makes me wonder if on-line groups function by mutual admiration or not at all. The places where are I am already admirable are not what need program work.
Has anyone here had any success in dealing with on-line group members who trigger you or are triggered by you?
I do not hold the "ignore" or "block" functions as workable solutions. I hold them as cyber-denial. Digital or organic, denial never solved anything or me.
Thoughts? Experience?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
What I do is just treat my anger like a potato, to paraphrase Thict Nhat Hanh.
I will steer clear from there for now. It wasn't a wise choice for me to go there alone. But I did attempt it, and in doing so, learned that i have some serious work to do.
For now, I come Herr and on some other groups. This group deals with the issue on a level that I can progressively heal to eventually go there again.
I guess it's still a matter of peeling away layers . May always be.. but i feel its best to just keep peeling, rather than cut to the core first.
Getting past that reflex to melt into the wallpaper is one of the great bennies I gained from live support groups. I believe it is part of my flight reflex.
For certain, group dynamics shift constantly. Live or digital, even when membership stagnates. Microbial action thrives in stagnate water.
It is that feeling that also pushed me away. My experience are of the same, child abuse, incest. But the perpetrators are mostly gone now, on the otherside. Just a few left to out live. So the anger is what is triggering a lot of times...I can feel the heat of it. You can't heal well in the midst of a fire.
